London...BOO HOO 4 U!!!

I have NEVER seen so much bs about Prince's performances until this tour. Some of you are very ungrateful it makes me sick! Your reviews stink, your press stinks, you drink too much and you don't deserve to have him playing 21 nights in London after reading everything here after only 3 performances!

BOO HOO 4 U!!! neutral

If you're so unhappy with him send him back to the USA and he can tour here. I'm sure he would get a better reception here.

Please read the Independant review from yesterday August 6th, it was a brilliant review of the first nite and for all of us that were there it was so true, I had a wonderful time, so much so I have booked tickets for three more shows!! As far as I am concerned Prince can reign purple over London for as long as he wants - and I'm sure most wud agree..... lol wink biggrin wink

I had a bloody great time as well!!!!!

If you haven't seen any of my posts about what a great time I've had you haven't been reading!

As for the press, in addition to the Independent, Prince got very positive reviews in The Guardian, The Times and The Express. In fact, I've yet to read a poor press review of the actual show.

Yes, there are some moaners here, some who have constructive criticism and most who LOVED it!

Not all have time or opportunity in their jobs to post. I've taken 3 people now, all of whom loved it. One was not even a Prince-fan and said it was the 'best performance' he'd ever seen!

WTF I am still high from opening night and have not read a bad review yet, did see some crap about Prince's demands at the Dorchester but didn't bother to read it as I don't care for that kind of thang. As I said in another thread when I get a mo I will scan the reviews and post them 4 all to see.

I had a wonderful time, just the best night. Also, I've spoken about it on here. My tour programme from the night is full of clippings from the press of how brilliant and on-form he is. I took my husband who isn't a fan, and he really enjoyed it.

People are people, we're a mixed bag here just as much as in the US - we're looking after him for you. As to the drinking - don't you have idiots who drink too much there aswell?

Yeah, to anyone bagging him out just remember - he's only toured here TWICE. And both for mediocre albums (D&P and Musicology).

Be glad he picked YOUR city/town/country/whatever and remember all the peeps sitting at home every night in some other country wondering what it would be like if it were "21 Nights In Melbourne" bawl

I'm VERY bitter about this and lockdance to anyone who complains.

I also agree with other posters that no official press has been bad - just spoilt orgers who seem to think he owes them something or should incorporate more backflips and splits into the show as well as some circus animals and fire tricks rolleyes

I think u may have got the main shows a bit mixed up with the aftershows, the main shows have got mostly positive reviews so far, apart from maybe Friday, but then again a lot of ppl enojyed it, each to the own...

As for the aftershow situation, a lot of ppl are frustrated at the way its been handled, just expressing an opinion. Not everyone's pointing the finger at Prince...

And for the press, i've really yet 2 see an outright negative review, which is suprising, maybe u should check out these reviews:

So you believe everything you read, and have read all 60000 plus reviews of the show as that is how many people have seen him so far. less the 100 or so who have seen the show more than once.

Went for the first time on Saturday, excluding the gig at the KOKO, and he kicked ass, only problem is the curfew we suffer over here, 11PM finish or £50K fine in the main arena I hear. Going again tonight, and I am sure he will kick ass again.

I guess ur stuck at home wishing ur in London so you could see the shows, but instead your dissin the fact that some, not many people have moaned.

Well Get over it!

Sometime in Spetember he'll return to the US and us Brits will have to wait maybe a couple of years for him to bless our arenas again, if we don't splash the cash and come stateside.

Anyway, i'm going again tonight with my squeeze and we're ready to party, she ain't seen Prince b4 but i'm sure she'll love it too. Gonna b in 1st on 106, so anyone out there say hi to everyone else. Different view from the 3121 block so will see more of his face this time, but then he worked the stage on Saturday anyway.

I ain't gonna write a review as there are soo many good ones on the org already.

So Peace, i'm outta here

I have to agree that it is rather strange that people can find it in them to be unhappy about the concerts... I mean ... It a HUGE venue... it wont feel like an intimate stage, like Paisley Park or Koko etc...

The buz you get in the bigger venues can be far more electrifying as so many people are having such an amazing time. I was surprised last week with tickets (after having sold some 'cause I thought I wouldn't be able to make it to my original date) and the concert and aftershow were just FAB! Yes, there were plenty of drunk people at the aftershow and some girls tried to start a fight in front of me... at which point my friend dragged me away - (I don't think he wanted me back in hospital quite so soon!!).

But all in all, it was an amazing night. The combination of the music, dancing, outstanding guitar was incredible. I'm not particularly great at writing reviews, I have to admit I go to concerts to enjoy myself - not take notes - but all I can say is, it was a night that I'm lookinf forward to repeating with my daughter in a couple of weeks.

DIG ME NOW - maybe you should take some time out and read all the reviews - even my mother has been excited for me cause of all the fantastic reviews she has read!!
Those on here have been mostly positive with people misunderstanding what the aftershow is for (NOWHERE does it say that Prince will play). It was an opportunity to keep the night going on for longer and to dance to someP tracks in a club...doesn't happen very often (unless you join SAVAGE in in Manchester Sept!)

Thats all I'm going to say on this 0 think I have said enough anyway!!

Don't forget people are more likely to post a complaint than praise. From the start of the ticketing mayhem I have been VERY positive about the tour. 21 fucking nights on MY doorstep! Still can't believe I am only going to 3 shows. Give other people a chance eh?

Opening night was amazing, tonight will be amazing and Saturday will be amazing.

I have not read one bad review in the press from the metro to the guardian always starstarstarstar. Of course our press are famous for being shitheads but the good thing is at least they will criticise when needed, so when you get consistently good reviews you know the man is doing something right.

Alcohol - hmmm

You put a bunch of people in a room with booze, and they are gonna drink. This isn't Utah! 2 or 3 pissheads can ruin a night for tens of people but realistically these assholes represent 0.00% of those attending.

We sat and watched musicology and vegas from afar, this is our turn now. London is exceptionally well connected for the rest of Europe too and it was great to hear Germans, Dutch, French and Italians last week – get your buts over here, you are welcome!!

Sorry Oz and Nz I feel for ya shrug £600 round trip is probably a bit steep for your average fan.

I agree the mood appears sombre but trust me, London is Prince crazy at the moment. Music pumping from bars and hairdressers, Ultimate Prince in the top 10, posters all over the place, official and fan reviews in papers daily.

As a Prince fan I am a happy man. I may only be in a minority who post this but trust me, we are many!
