I'll be there on the 21st with the mrs.

Won't be up for any partying after the aftershow, I'll just be looking to crash out in my bed! Far too old to keep going after the afters smile.

Is there a pre-concert meet planned?

I was also wondering how many of us staying at the HI also got the block 102 tickets from the other week.We could all invade the O2 together.
RIP sad

I think there's a fair few in the 102 Block from what I recall...it has been nicknamed the "Prince.org" block if I recall. Perhaps someone should take a sign with them. I'm in block 118...bit out of the way, but just glad to be there at all to be honest!

THANKS![/quote:9354b25f05]

Saskia,

I booked using this link. Still looks a good price too. Good Luck.

http://www.hoteldirect.co...354b25f05]

you won't be able to get a booking with the hotel direct link. that holiday inn won't sell rooms via agencies for busy nites, specifically this one. the cheapest price online is £143, but the other day they offered me £99 a nite if i stayed both nites. i booked the 20th sep online for £69, so it would have only been a £14 or so saving if i paid £99 x 2 rather than £69 + £143. they wouldn't do it for £99 for the one nite. other nites the rooms are only £59 but it goes up closer to the time depending on how busy they are

Hey, that's not a bad idea ya know!! I could break out the old Madge cowboy hat!! Funny story there...I had to buy a new one after seeing her at Wembley Arena last year. We managed to get tickets right by the catwalk and the security guys lets us stand right by the rail as apparently Madonna liked to grab a hat from someone during the show. So there we were right by the rail singing and dancing, amazing view for the show...and I'm hoping she'll grab my hat (leopard-skin coloured one no less). Halfway through the show Madge comes sauntering down the runway and comes to grab my hat!!!! I was blown away until I realised the strap for it is still round my nekc, and she nearly strangles me with it!! I had to quickly untangle it and the lady herself mouths the word "sorry" to me...she was containing a giggle though I swear. Best moment of life though (apart from meeting my missus...in case she's reading!!)

As for the Prince show, I have a nifty smart purple denim jacket that as two gold "symbols" on the lapels, coupled with a tasty purple shirt I think and "symbol" necklace. I'm sure you'd be able to pick me out the crowd! biggrin

Yes Dave i've got tickets for the aftershow. How did you book your room as if you book it the right way on the Holiday Inn website its only £59 with breakky

Hmmm...this interesting!! I did it over the phone the same way I did on Saturday just gone, and it cost £189...no single room rate!! I did think this a bit steep, but I'm a bit lazy when it comes to accomodation. And with the hotel being so close its ideal to walk to after the concert for a quick freshen up before the Aftershow. We walked back in 15 mins, and by the time we got back to the Indigo (12:30) the queue had disappeared.

If you find out about this cheaper rate though, let me know...I'll be dropping Mr Holiday Inn a line then to find out why the hell I'm paying through the nose!

I stayed in this hotel on the 4th at the price of £175.00 Also stayed on the 5th as we wanted to visit a few places. Sunday cost us £63.00. To stay on the last concert night we were told it would be £180.00. Staff also said the increase in price was due to Prince performing on that night. Bloody rip off. Also the walk is quite long if your in heels and the undergrond would prob get you there in the same amount of time from any surronding town, therefore I am booking somewhere cheaper on the 21st and getting the tube there.

I'd keep an eye on what time the last tube is though....if you're going to the Aftershow party they might not be running when you come out at 3am...I'd have a look on the London Underground website before booking.

I was gonna post on the issue of times and stuff nearer the day, but no time like the present I guess. When I stayed there before you were allowed to check in to your room from 3:00 onwards (though I think we got in a little earlier on the day)...so do peeps want to meet in the bar at 4:00 and then head off to get ready for the show, or get ready for the show and then meet for a brew in the bar before we walk to the arena???

As for after the Aftershow...who knows!! biggrin

i have a room booked on 20th sept at that holiday inn, but no room on 21st as it was too expensive and i'm planning on catching the first train home from kings cross at 6.15am (although there are trains on the hour and half hour), so i'll probably pop in for a bit to pick up my bags before getting back to the north greenwich tube station when it opens (anyone know what time? 5am?)

so we'll prolly get out the o2 at 3am, back to hotel at 3.30am, leave hotel at 4.30 to get to tube station, to get to kings cross and i can sleep on the train on the way back
