back from the aftershow..didn't see the main show,due to work and to be honest was apprehensive because of what i heard so far bout the aftershows(drunk and agressive "fans'),but i have to say WHAT A SHOW! nice crowd,no drunks and grupo fantasma rocked the house_(love the latin feel)and my word,PRINCE..OUCH! looked like he was having a ball..got the crowd excited and did not disappoint(played on stage for 1 1/2 hours).I think this was largely due to the crowd..no drunken behaviour helps big time! so i think anyone wanting to see the best of prince at the shows should curb the alcohol and no photos,i noticed several people being ejected from the club for repeated camera action.so be warned.
looking forward to seeing main show on sat.x

no.did 1 or 2 covers,if i can remember and jamminon guitar and piano with band.
according to my friend he was right behind us at one point.she spotted him when she went to the ladies..and was dumbstruck!!

Yep, had two hours sleep after being front and centre (by the foldback table)...

ended up slightly thinner due to the pushing, but a fantastic night

Talking before the aftershow we were reminiscing about Prince and Stevie Wonder playing at the VH1 years ago... then Superstition, Tell Me Something Good and Higher Ground, was he listening in .

As above, great to see true fans, not drunks, enjoying the aftershow and people heeding the no camera shouts, as that would kill the night - no one wants Prince to cut things short.

Everyone was on top form and Prince was even singing along in the wings to Gruppo Fantasmo at one stage.

Show and aftershow was great. Prince played solo guitar at start of main show. The band were tight and played immense funk. Moved onto to solo piano and the whole band picked it up at the end, finishing with Grupo Fantasmo.

Grupo Fanfasmo were great. After 25 minutes Prince comes on, plays some good guitar - definatley playing with the band, not fronting it. Moves onto drums. Dances off stage for half an hour, come back on and the NPG fill out the stage. Prince's set starts with a long instrumental version of I Like It There (bass, guitar and drums only - screaming). Prince then plays some funky keyboards before ponuding out Superstition and Higher Ground with Martha singing, then Thank You For Lettin Me Be Mice Elf Again and loads more.

This was an amazing night.

This sounds more like it. Looking at the small queue on the way out of the arena, I was worried it would be a wash out.

But then again, P was in such good form in the main show, I would have been amazed if he didn't turn up somewhere else to play!

A couple of piss heads and a bit to much camphoning at the start but the bouncers were on it and for the most part people respected the "rules" especially when it was clear Prince and the band were gonna jam for a while.

"Superstition" on the keys, was a highlight Tito Puente's "Oye Como Va"and some awesome guitar work on a track I have been dreaming about all night (but now can't recall) to close the night. I am shattered and after only 3 hours sleep - CANT BE ARSED to go into work. I am on a high - fantastic!!!

So glad you guys had a good time hopefully he will do more aftershows like that.

Can I ask what time you got into the aftershow when the band started up and when he came on stage and left.

Just need help with times because I'm going have to book a taxi back.

It seems like he is trying to create a similar atmosphere to what he did in Vegas at the aftershows there.

I personally like to see him chilled jamming with the band and having fun himself. It iss not all about him singing and dancing.

Am looking forward to sharing in the experience on Saturday night.

It has varied the nights I have been. As a rule (if there can be a rule) and if he is going to play for more than a few mins he is on between 2-3. Last night he came on a jammed a bit after 1am a couple of times, but stayed on stage for a while between 2 and 3. Last wednesday it was almost 2 on the dot and he stayed for about an hour. I am hazy though, still have a redbull hangover.

What a great aftershow! I've been to all four so far and last night was simply the best. Firstly, he turned up , but his guitar playing was simply amazing. The Indigo2 was half empty and P played his best performace so far. The crowd were up for it and so was was Prince. I was on the left of the stage and he came out of the white doors again as on Saturday night. I went over and said hello and he smiled and walked off through the white doors and went back on stage. He must have be checking how the band looked on stage. It was cool to to see him smile two feet away though, but he was not up for a chat

I did have another good chat with Morris Hayes before the show though. He told me Shelby lost her grandmother, so that is why she was not at the show last night. I asked about the Friday night aftershow and Morris said Cora was feeling really ill, so that is why they didn't do a set.

Great to meet everyone last night btw....

Oh man. So after Prince went off the first time, and Grupo Fanfasmo had come back on for an encore... and it was past 2am and hearing about Prince's short performances at other aftershows - we decided to call it a night and leave. Sounds like my worst decision since... our decision to leave when the houselights went up at the end of the first night. Won't make that mistake again. When he came back on, how much longer was the jam?
