I wish he would play more stuff from PLANET EARTH!!! On Saterday he only played guitar, it was HEAVY, but it is the Planet Earth tour, I personally want his freshest stuff. Especially 1UwannaC & Lion of Judah.

If the audience cheered louder for them he probably would.
'Guitar' is going down well though, as all his 'rockier' material does with a UK audience.

I went to the opening night and along with guitar he played Planet Earth and Somewhere here on Earth..... I went to the 3rd Aug show and he only played Guitar....the cynic in me thinks he only played PE and Somewhere coz he knew the opening night would be the "reviewed" night...hence more PE tracks.... Thats probably also why he was on at 8.30 and didnt leave till 11pm on the wednesday but came on at 8,40ish on the friday and was off by 10.40 Either way, both concerts were excellent. It was fantastic to hear a live "joy in repetiton".....awesome.

Since even the casual fans should know this stuff (because it's free), it makes sense to put more of it in the setlist. Somewhere here on earth really slowed things down on Wednesday though. But Guitar and Planet Earth were both great and tracks like 1 u wanna c and Chelsea Rogers would sustain the momentum.

On the opening night I was surrounded by a lot of motionless people with blank faces during Planet Earth, Guitar and Somewhere Here On Earth. Many people just didn't seem to know them, which really surprised me considering the free album giveaway.
Personally I can take or leave Somewhere Here On Earth but loved Guitar and especially loved Planet Earth. I just wished that he'd rocked out on The One U Wanna C after doing a brief part of it as a ballad during Pink Cashmere. All we got was a few lines but I guess that's better than what folks have had from PE on subsequent nights. [Edited 8/6/07 8:14am] RIP

it's not just planet earth material he should delve in2 it's every album since emancipation that he needs 2 delve in2 and play those songs live.
if they continue 2 have that blank stare, F 'EM!! u continue 2 have a good time and tell them when they ask u what song it is..direct them 2 the record store and say this ..'CATCH UP! there's life after the 80's" man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I really enjoyed Guitar live. Not a huge fan of Planet Earth either on the album, or the live version.
It may grow on me....but I'm not sure yet. Guitar rocks live!!!

His last faultless release was 20 years ago! (SoTT) Still awesome live...althought I felt his performance was a little formulaic & lacklustre compared to other occasions when I've seen him

people didn't buy tickets to hear that garbage
plus he probably hasn't rehearsed those new songs enough with the band and they are not exactly arena type songs truth is if he really did a planet earth tour, he wouldn't be able to do it without his hits it's like a curse.....you know he doesn't want to play them.....but then again he has to because that is what sells tickets

I'd really like to hear Chelsea Rodgers - everyone went mental in the Indigo on Friday and Saturday night when this was played.
It's funky and you can dance along, even if you don't know the words. Having prayed for Joy in Rep (the other half plays boots of this one to DEATH! so it was for him really), and Shhh, I will now start praying for Chelsea Rodgers. All those who want to pray with me, feel free
