Opening night was amazing, tonight will be amazing and Saturday will be amazing. I have not read one bad review in the press from the metro to the guardian always  . Of course our press are famous for being shitheads but the good thing is at least they will criticise when needed, so when you get consistently good reviews you know the man is doing something right.
Alcohol - 
You put a bunch of people in a room with booze, and they are gonna drink. This isn't Utah! 2 or 3 pissheads can ruin a night for tens of people but realistically these assholes represent 0.00% of those attending. We sat and watched musicology and vegas from afar, this is our turn now. London is exceptionally well connected for the rest of Europe too and it was great to hear Germans, Dutch, French and Italians last week – get your buts over here, you are welcome!! Sorry Oz and Nz I feel for ya  £600 round trip is probably a bit steep for your average fan.
I agree the mood appears sombre but trust me, London is Prince crazy at the moment. Music pumping from bars and hairdressers, Ultimate Prince in the top 10, posters all over the place, official and fan reviews in papers daily. As a Prince fan I am a happy man. I may only be in a minority who post this but trust me, we are many! [Edited 8/7/07 4:13am]

Well Damn some ppl are friggin nasty when all Dig was doing was making her thoughts known about how she felt. So clearly its okay for some ppl to whine or have a shot at Prince but its obviously NOT okay for someone to voice her opinon about the complainers!!! So much for speaking ure mind eh?
I'm damn sure there are plenty of u that have given awsome reviews and enjoyed ureselves silly but is Dig complaining about U guys? Hell no!! Stop attacking her if its not U she is talking about and show the woman some love. She is a damn nice person!!! Maybe some of us are just fed up with the over abundance of complaining. Anyone that has the pleasure of seeing him perform shouldn't take it for granted, us Aussies are totally deprived so hearing any sort of criticism makes me cringe. You don't know what you have until it's gone..

i have always been and advocate that prince needs 2 tour both austrailia and japan more often the even the US or Europe.
i personally and not offended by his lack of touring here in the US. 4 me i would b more content bout seeing the symbol stage then the music that's being played in UK. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |

[ [Edited 8/7/07 0:50am] Sorry but as somebody who has seen Prince numerous times I can tell you that Friday 3rd Aug performance was 50% as good as any other of his shows Ive seen. It was short, dingy (Only Cream & Kiss actually lit up the stage) abd half-hearted. Look at the set list - 2 very short encores and the show was over 45mins earlier than teh night before. When the show started his brilliant band played for 15 mins before he even appeared. Do you belive thathe said Good Night London after 1 hour!!!! | |

  Yes, that review for me has come closest to describing the way i feel about the first 3 gigs...the part where it says 'After a performer like Prince has played a show like this, you walk away feeling privileged to have been alive at the same time' pretty much nails it on the head for me I think i'm as close to bliss as i'll ever get...i've got tickets for 4 more shows/3 more aftershows, nad if i can get the time off work i'll try to get to some more! i tried to write a couple of blogs (www.myspace.com/eargasmentertainment) but i'm just not as articulate as the independent writer! I would feel sorry for the american fans...but then you did get the vegas gigs! I was really quite envious at the time! | |

I have to say, I can see why some Orgers may have this opinion as there have been alot of negative, picky threads since the concerts started - with alot of angry people regarding tix and sound and aftershows, etc etc. I havent gone to the concerts yet, so i cant comment. I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the reviews, but up til last weekend, there was alot of bitching going on here, in my humble opinion. I was deleted to log on this morning to see more positive threads in the last few days and was so excited to read the review from Tuesday night.
I have only seen the man 4 times previously, as he has only been in Ireland 4 times - so I am delighted to have the opportunity to travel to London to see him twice... We are so excited and are counting down the days!!! Why cant we all just get along?!!!! | |
