3rd August show - anyone else notice the problem with the elevator at the start of Purple Rain? During the show on the Friday 3rd Prince was up and down his little elevator stand several times and I noticed that as the band started up Purple Rain, after a few bars, there was a puff of smoke where the microphone should be but Prince didn't appear...
The band played a few more bars of the intro and there was another puff of smoke but still no Prince! This happended 3 times before a roadie ran over to where the square elevator bit was and did something and then lo and behold up he came. Prince then wandered around playing extended guitar intro solos before starting singing. To me it looked like there was problem with the elevator and it got stuck. Anyone else notice this?
