Mazo, don't go by anyone else's experience. Make it your own and have a great time, because at the end of the day it will be your experience. That's what it is all about. Enjoy!

Prince is the most succulent experience you will probaly ever have as it relates to performance and musicianship. He will give you all that is within him...trust me, he is that kind of an entertainer. Enjoy!!!!

I couldn't have said it any better than that. Have a blast at the show!
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

There will always be people who cannot find enjoyment and have to complain about minor things--thats life and how it was designed. So Mazo try not to focus on that. The concert was jammin and Prince will not disappoint you. Get ready to dance for 5 hours straight!!! Man I wish I could go to 21 shows.

It's not about being "negative". Once you're in your seat and Prince is playing on-stage, all of us would enjoy that. It's just some of the chaos and confusion regarding the tickets and the aftershows, some of the misinformation, blatant profiteering, and bad experiences have left a sour taste in some people's mouths.

I can't wait to come down to London next week though, it's gonna be awesome.

These sorts of thread baffle me.

You say each to there own, but you start a thread asking people to cut back on their freedom of speech and a right to an opinion?!

If I had to choose, I take the negative fan over the dictatorial fans any day.

some of the negative comments come from the fact that older fans have seen him previously - i guess you need to be open minded.

My mate loved the show, whilst i thought it was great i couldnt help thinking that it was no where near the gold tour shows in 95 - but then he had the world (and the record companies against him) etc etc the material was all new and songs that we were preped with and we couldnt wait to get a taster.

In honesty i cant help but think that hes milking the last great thing hes had going for him - hes live show, 21 shows is overkill imo

and after the GOLD tour shows .. how many complaints would have been on a forum like this saying "COME ON WE WANNA HEAR THE OLD STUFF"

its all about opinions but in my view we are getting to see the best live performer of his generation for £31.21

go and enjoy
sometimes it snows in april....
sometimes i feel so bad.....

Everone is entitled to any opinion but at the end of the day it was an Aftershow party. If he was guarenteed to play it would be billed as a small intimate gig. On the 4th some clown was shouting to Nikka Costa 'Get off' and 'we want Prince'. Fans like this its no wonder he only showed for a few minutes. Why would he want to??

I have reads so many negative reviews and i guess it all comes down to where you were standing. I had the privilidge of seeing the man from a few feet and watching him shake my partners hand and gesturing at me. Money could not buy this as it was so sureal. Its one for the memories and can say now it will be one of the best nights i have ever and will ever have. Im not a Prince fan either as i got the tickets for my partners birthday. For the people who left early moaning and growning then they have simply lost out. People where dancing on the floor and drinking completley oblivious to what was happening so i guess you have to be standing at the right time at the right place to be one of the select few to appreciate this as this is what Prince is all about.

The night and experience was priceless and i thank the man himself for a time to remember forever.

err

At ticket master, it WAS advertised as a Prince concert, not a party, not a Nikka Costa show!

No wonder there were pee'd off people in the crowd!

Well it never mentioned concert when i bought my tickets, but an official aftershow party. Official i took to be organised by the profesional compny AEG who are also the official organisers of the main gigs. I was hoping but never expected him to show up.

I booked at ticket master and i knew when booking that he was not guarenteed to play. When i got mine (day or so after they were first released) it stated Official Aftershow.. There was much debate on forums whether it was an aftershow or an after party. Not once did it mention a concert and like i said i was fully aware that he may or may not turn up to play. I bought the tickets for my partners birthday and had planned on a few drinks in Londons west end but then changed my mind when after show tickets released with the general thought of 'i might as well get the tickets in the hope of him turning up as we would only be getting drunk somewhere else so why not at the aftershow'

Im more than happy with what i got and money could not buy the experience we had there when he showed up on the floor.

Thats cool. You pretty much have the same view as me.

But you will see (its still there) that TM are selling the tickets as a concert. They have catogorised it in their subsections as a Music Concert, not the seperate section of Clubs etc.

They've slapped a disclaimer up today because they have realised they were in error. But of course this is after thousands of tickets have already been sold.

As for us for hardcore fans, there has been an unwritten rule for over 20 years. Aftershow meant performance, after party meant party.

Every aftershow I have been to so far has had a performance. I turned down the afterparties (like the one in Manchester) because I was only interested in a Prince show.

I'm with you in regards to having a drink or five instead, but then a bunch of threads pop up from fams wanting drinking banned! smile

Fair enough then wink . Didnt mean i wanted to get drunk. (Although i did lol )
As it was my partners birthday we would of ended up in a few bars in the city centre. But with the slightest chance of him showing up i booked the aftershow tickets instead and had drink there.
To be honest he must have people in the crowd who report back of any incidents and if he feels they dont deserve it or for safety then he not going to show up. Would you?
I have read a few incidents on Saturday that i was not aware of. I was standing on the dance floor at the back nearly leaning on the barrier, and moved over to the bar at the back end of the room after Nikka had finished. Friday i hear that it was full of idiots and i would not want to come out and play for a group of idiots. NO DISRESPECT FOR THE GENUINES. Its like a football match 1% of the fans can spoil it for everyone.
Anyways on a lighter note, i hope everyone who is due to attend enjoys it as much as i did.
