The 1 reason we are here

I am sitting here having a Prince night off,and like most fans the reason i joined this site was to catch updates, talk to people who share my interest and generally get that buzz that only P provides.

All i seem to hear are fans moaning about what he sang/didnt sing what the audience were like etc

I first saw Prince at Wembley Arena in 1986 (yeh im REAL old!! lol) and as a uk fan we didnt get the purple rain tour-his crowning glory as the press say- we also missed SOTT tour but hey i travelled to europe for that,in fact i have been to many places in Europe that i wouldnt have gone to if he wasnt playing! And loved every minute of them too.

My next show will be my 25th and i have enjoyed every one of them.

They havent all been great, but i struggle to find an artist who would top P live. But you know what you go for or you wouldnt go(?)yeah thats heavy I KNOW

Maybe you wont like every song, maybe his shows are not as good as "they used to be" but jesus the guy is 49!When we started out on this journey did we really think we would still be standing up/houselights go down/intros over and getting that rush of excitement in August 2007?I didnt but im glad i am and loving it

My wife still says her favourite show was Brixton 1998,i have to say we were right up the front and she wouldnt win any awards for worlds tallest female.

I took my mate to the opening night of the Gold/Ultimate live tour at wembley arena in 1995 after nagging him for 7 years that "YOU REALLY GOT TO GO"

.....And he didnt play any hits-took me another seven years to explain that one

Whats your favourite show?
Remember why you go,is the whole show that bad an experience for you?

There are things i dont like in these shows but i still love that two hour plus experience and cant wait for the next show,he may never tour the uk again and i have said that to myself b4

if you have not been yet enjoy it,maybe i will see you there

Enjoy

Wayne

I've only ever been once - I went to the Gold Experience show at the NEC in Birmingham - to be honest I don't remember a fat lot about it as it's one album that I never really took to! I just remember having an awsome time, being quite close to the stage and a big glittery 'bang'!

Unfortunately I missed the ONA shows as I was on holiday in America at the time (yeah, i scoured the internet looking to see if he was gonna be close by in the US and the little sod was in bloody London!)

My brother is the reason that I got into Prince - he's 6 years older than me and I remember having loads of arguements about who was better: micheal Jackson or Prince, my bro had a convincing arguement as the Purple rain album had just come out and as we all know it completely kicked ass! I don't think that my mum was too impressed that he was playing me tracks like Darlin' Nikki when I was like 6 at the time (that and the fact that she loved MJ!) He schooled me in the ways of prince and quickly regreted it as his albums kept finding their way into my room where I'd sit on the floor with my headphones on amazed. I remember him going to one of the concerts (I think it was maybe the Peach and Black tour) and I begged and begged for him to take me but I was too young and he was going with his mates and didn't want his 'lil sis cramping his style - I was understandably gutted and cried for ages. The tables have turned now and it was me that told him about the last few albums and the Earth tour - we had planned to go together but we'd both bought tickets that were only a day apart and as we both have babies with our respective spouses and share a set of grandparents to do the babysitting I, very grudgingly decided to let my tickets go for the night we were supposed to go together :sob: - it's a real shame as I would love to finally share the experience of Prince Live with the man who introduced me to him - my brother, Craig. Cheers mate.

That a lovely story Mrs!

Well, its only Tuesday and I am sooo excited already. I don't care how much it has cost me, don't care where I sit, don't care how much my drinks are or what food is on offer. I don't care who is drunk and who isn't, I dont care if I am drunk (or my sis!), I don't care if no-one else likes it, I don't care if P doesnt play exactly what I want..

All I care about is having a big ol' party on saturday with the main man and all the orgers! Woohoo!
