Very nice. I love the tracks being split apart like that, as it makes me feel that this as a completely unique entity; which in fact it is.
If loads of people are happy -- and many certainly seem to be -- and so is Prince, that's really what matters the most. I usually don't have enough faith in the new material, and Prince has never given away nearly 3 million albums before, so If I think he can do something, it's easy for me to say, as I don't risk the jeers if things go horribly wrong. If I didn't feel so strongly about many of the new songs, I wouldn't say anything, just like I haven't been since "The Rainbow Children". But that's why I would always suggest that you play any new material with a lot of hits (which he has in spades). And if you're not going to tour a free album, I would also suggest a different name for the tour, as well as not playing more material from your album released 17 months ago. But things can easily change and probably will! It's very early in this long stay. -- I have my editor over my lap right now -- [Edited 8/7/07 19:06pm]

Great to hear from you too. Very glad you & your friends had a ball. Had I known, we should have definitely met up for a drink. I am absolutely rolling at that mistaken line from Black Sweat..."Working. Working off your body fat!" That is HILARIOUS!! Hey! If I'd known you were there, I definitely would've met up for a pint. Never mind - I'm just glad you had such a great time, too. I'll be at this Friday and Saturday's gigs if you're around... And, yes, my friends had an amazing night - it was one to note in the 'Prince Live Experiences' book. I have to say this left a sour taste in my mouth. If I was Prince, I wouldn't have wanted to come back out to continue performing in what one could perceive of as a hostile astmosphere. Booing, for any reason, doesn't vibe well for the atmosphere. I don't know whether it was the fans or the general crowd or a combination of both but I thought it was poor form. I totally agree with this. People booed at the end of both Friday and Saturday's gigs and it was bloody rude. In fairness, I don't think it was meant with any hostility - just people disappointed that the gig was finished, they wanted him to keep playing - but I do wonder whether this had anything to do with P not playing full Aftershow sets those nights.

Oh, and Anji - you weren't the only person wondering whether Prince was going to play the Purple Rain in its' entirety.
My heart nearly stopped when the gig kicked off with LGC and TMWU! . [Edited 8/8/07 6:16am]
