old skool-do you remember in the 80's when aftershows were truly spur of the moment

not all announced....

the band would literally find a nightclub and see if they could play-those gigs were literally gold dust-im think of le new morning, ruperts and camden palace in particular-im reading alot about angry fans and the "aftershows"

the aftershows(and if u see one it will blow your mind i have been lucky enough to) seem a wee bit contrived these days-perhaps not so spontaneous.

anyway..blahdy blah i hope those of u lucky enough to be in london will get to see one!

nod i think the concept of an 'aftershow' originated because dude had more energy than time.

but nowadays it seems like people expect an aftershow like a lengthy musical encore by prince, himself. that has to be exhausting for him. the truth is, no one can get enough of prince. we all want more more more~! lol

i think the last "true" aftershow when it was completly unannounced was the melbourne aftershow-when he performed NEWS in its entirety in front of 40-50 people!!

apparently they were just chillin in a tiny jazz club and up pops "the entertainment"

eek
