Who spoke to Morris last night? I had quite a good chat with him, about the difference between this tour and the 93-5 period. I also asked why Michael B and Sonny played on Planet Earth. The simple answer was that they both live in Minneapolis and can be reached easy. Cora and Josh are from Texas....

Morris was having a laugh and was very down to earth. He was expecting to play after Dr.John, so it was originally intended for Prince to perform. Shame he didn't play, as Wednesday was so good, but I'm hoping he'll make up for it tonight.

That's cool! I liked Morris Hayes. In fact that band (Morris Hayes, Sonny T, Michael B, Tommy Barbarella) remains my favourite Prince band.

I taught Morris' cousin, here in the Dallas area. She is now playing basketball for Southern Methodist Univ., on scholarship. Being a huge Prince fan, I had the NPGMC site up during class on day and she saw his picture. She laughed and asked if I liked Prince and mention my cousin is in his band. I teased her and said no she doesn't. I asked her who her cousin was and she said Morris Hayes. I told her she didn't know Morris, and she said that my dad's brothers son.

Great to see him back on the road with Prince again.

Sometimes the simplest explanation is the most likely. Prince has played with those guys - Michael B and Sonny T - many times. They're nearby, he needs someone quickly... why not pick up the phone to some local guys who he knows can deliver? No need for the conspiracy theories.
