Aftershows £25 for a party?!?!?!? What a rip off! I've never paid £25 to go to a club. This smells of Price profiteering from his fans. I wasn't there but I have got tickets for both the concert and aftershow on 14th August. If he's a no show at the aftershow I'll be demanding a refund.....why should I pay Prince for not turning up?????
Why do the tickets say Prince-Official Aftershow, when surely it should say After Party for the Prince Show????? The tickets should have had a disclaimer saying that he wasn't guaranteed to play, these tickets have been sold under false pretenses. I've been a fan for 25 years and can't believe the farce surrounding the sale of tickets for both the concerts and aftershows.....DISGUSTING!

Last night they were selling a handful of "VIP" tickets on the door - separate entry, seating upstairs. £70 !!!!! Unbelievable.
Could only see a few of the seats from down-below but they didn't look like they were in a hot position. I wouldn't blame Prince - I don't think he's in control of how AEG are promoting the event. Suspect he's committed to a certain number of the shows and there's a confidentiality clause in the contract meaning he no one can say when those dates are... if they did, we all know what would happen to ticket sales !

But your not telling me Prince knew nothing about what the promoters planned to do????? but he still went ahead and signed.... with disregard to Fans.

Scuse the ignorance, but who is this Dr John guy?
As far as I was expecting there would be live music with Prince's band each night at least. Even if Prince didn't join them at all, I'd be happy with that, as they're a great band, I love the horns, and have never been to an aftershow. So when TM advised me that the band would indeed play each night, I presumed it would be Prince's band - so who is this Dr John? What does he play exactly?

In fairness, it's never been promised that Prince or NPG would play the aftershows at all. Certainly more recently it's become obvious that he may or may not play. You still get an aftershow, so I actually don't think that anyone is really being screwed over by promoters; it's certainly not false advertising. You pay £25 and you take your chances. I'd be surprised if he did any at all when there's a full concert less than 24 hours later.

I'm sorry but you can't expect people to pay £25 and take their chances. That's like selling tickets for the main show and Prince may or may not show up. £25 to listen to a DJ is ridiculous, I've never paid that much to get in a club in my life!!! The tickets clearly state:
AEG LIVE PRESENT PRINCE - OFFICIAL AFTERSHOW Nowhere does it say party.....it clearly states SHOW.....a black curtain and a DJ is nowhere near a show. It's no wonder the tickets for the main show are so cheap, this is how he seems to be making his money up.

Agreed. For £25 + TM charges (or worse, £70 + TM charges!) I think people should expect some kind of performance. Not a bar with a DJ.
Yes, 3121.com did coyly state that there may or may not be performances (after the tickets had already been already on sale for days, naturally) but the whole thing has been handled very poorly indeed. The description of what exactly you're paying for was deliberately ambiguous from the very outset. I can't deny that it was foolish of us (I include myself in that) to shell out cash for these tickets with no solid idea of what we were paying for, but the whole thing leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Prince's people really need to sort this out. It's entirely fixable. Prince can pick the nights (if any) on which he wants to do a second performance, and Ticketmaster can refund the rest of the tickets. One thing I really don't fancy is standing around a poncy trendy overpriced bar for hours and hours on the off-chance Prince will turn up. Unless I get some good intel, I'm tempted to just write off my aftershow tickets for the later shows (or chase up a refund from TM) and just get some sleep!

The organisers are wankers and prince has become more and more of a self obsessed prick who has little regard for his fans and please don't tell me I should be grateful or that I should be thankful that he is here in the UK at all!
I paid my money to the greedy fuck's and I want a show! I wont bore you with the details of the mediocre concert or the no show at indigo as it has all become a painful memory (at least to my feet anyway)! So Prince if you reading this the sooner you fuck of and leave us alone and get studying the bible the better because at 34 years of age and almost 20 years of buying your albums I am getting to long in the tooth to be messed around by anyone and that certainly includes you my little friend! It clearly states Aftershow, meaning it comes after the show. I know it's annoying if he doesn't play but there's never been a guarantee of a Prince performance. You say that it doesn't say party anywhere but it doesn't say concert/gig anywhere either.Nowhere does it say party.....it clearly states SHOW..... RIP

EnglishGent is right. There is quite a large gulf between some people's subjective expectations and what an Aftershow is objectively. Does noone think that if Prince was guaranteed to show up at a venue with a capacity of 3000(?) then the tickets would be more expensive than those for the actual show. Also, do you reasonably think he'd perform at the Indigo on all dates with another full concert often less than 24 hours away? I mean I know he's a grafter but come on, he's not superhuman.

These debates about semantics are irrelevant to those who feel cheated. legally, where you stand is solid for a refund. The ticketmaster site advertises the Official Prince Aftershow as a Prince event with his picture on it. A non-event (featuring no Prince) is refundable. Don't let 'em get away with it.
Consider someone, who doesn't know all the jazz about this, thinking 'Hmmm. I liked that Panet Earth. Now I'm gonna see how much it costs to go to see Prince. Oh £25. I'll book that one, then.' Such a person, clicking on a 'Prince' event and finding Dr. John will be refunded. So stay close to him/her, if u dig. rwb78 said: Do you reasonably think he'd perform at the Indigo on all dates with another full concert often less than 24 hours away? That is why, in the case of last night, the sales description is clear mis-representation and therefore a breach of trading standard laws. .

I can't honestly believe these people who are saying it's ok for Prince not to play. The aftershow has virtually no relevance to the Prince gig. So why in advance would anyone buy any tickets. Surely it would be better to go to the pub. If Prince isn't there, whats the point of the show. Please enlighten me, because at the moment a lot of people are talking sh1t

Whats next? The O2 slug & Lettuce charging £50 to get in for an aftershow. The offering is exactly the same. Maybe they could book Chico

Prince has pre-sold aftershow tickets before. I bought some for ONA in Rotterdam for Nighttown. He did appear. That was sold as an aftershow, so I think it is fair for people who paid MONEY, the same amount of MONEY as the main concert, to expect Prince to play.
If ticketmaster had stated that there was no guarantee that Prince would perform at the point of purchase, I think a lot of us wouldn't have taken the risk. The fact is, this info appeared on 3121.com long after the original release of the tickets. This is a sham, and I think everyone should complain. I've got two sets for two nights, and I am gonna contact TM on Monday about a refund. A friend of mine went last night and is fuming about the crap nature of that night. I'd rather turn up on the night and take the risk. Buying ahead is great, but if the risk of 'will he, won't he' is the same, what is the point? I would NEVER pay 35 quid to see a dj, is it New Years Eve already?!

Jesus Christ, will you people stop moaning already.
No one stuck a gun to your head and made you buy any tickets - VIP, AfterShow, whatever. You reached for your card, and you paid. That's it. The complaints here all seem to be based on assumptions and built-up expectations that were never actually stipulated. I agree that the way that the main show tickets have been allocated by TM is frankly bizarre but trying to re-define the term 'Aftershow' in order to claim a refund?? I don't think so. All of my hang-ups have gone. How I wish you felt the same.
