I wonder if anyone who experienced the VIP package at the O2 and the Kings Row area at Indigo2 last night could give us a run down please?

I had VIP tickets for main show and VIP for aftershow. After a disastrous time trying to get to VIP bar (stewards sent us in the wrong direction and we had already been waiting an hour before the doors opened), we finally made it. The bar was busy and understaffed (tip, buy all your drinks with your tokens at once) but very plush and nice to be there! Another tip, also eat before you go, because there was hardly any food. What food there was was being carried round on trays by waitresses who you had to physically stop to get anything to eat! A letter will defo be going to AEG for that!

We had tickets in block 102, row G, which were fantastic seats with a great view. No complaints about that! Of course Prince was amazing (see all other reviews for that bit!) and finished at 11.00pm. When we got into the outer dome bit we had a drink as there was a huge queue for Indigo 2. What we didn't realise was that there is a separate entrance for VIP ticket holders! So in we went aroun midnight and took the special lift up to the VIP bar! Cool! The bar was lovely and not too busy and managed to spot a celeb or two hanging out. For a white rum and coke and G & T it cost around £13.00 (double shots).
You could go through to Kings Row once it was opened. The front row was reserved for celebs and we had the second row which was great, there was also waitress service for drinks. You're not meant to stand up and dance in these rows but most people did so not sure if they will enforce that at other shows. It was nice to sit and enjoy the music in the smaller venue.

Was it worth getting VIP for aftershow? definately! Cos when Prince walked right in from of me going to the front row, I said Hi and he said Hi back! I think he was checking out the stage or just having a nosy around cos he left straight away but I've never been so close to him! The Twinz and his other vocalist came up and sat and watched him perform for a bit!

All in all, one of the best nights of my life, so glad I did VIP all the way, just to get good seats, it's really worth it.

Well, yeah, but it was pretty lax. Probably could have gone down to front row and nobody would have known as there was no one checking but I'm a good girl and don't break the rules! And anyway, was quite happy in 2nd row!

My tickets were ok, altho i felt that for the main show it's possibly more convenient to be in the lower tier ... got a strained neck from looking up at the stage all night.
I skipped the boat and the food/drink thing is a joke. If i pay a substantial amount for something, i do not expect to be waiting for 15 minutes before someone is able to talk to me about the rum coke i need.

Thanks for that NikkiJC. Really appreciate it. Nice to read something positive as most people have been very unhappy with the whole VIP thing. Were all the people taken to the same area of seats for the gig - all in block 102? It's just that I've read that VIP tickets were allocated to different areas. Having seen pictures of the stage I think the lower tiers are probably the best seats. What do you think? Would you have preferred to be on the floor?

As for getting up close and personal with his royal purpleness in Indigo - I am so envious. Can't wait now and I hope our evening is as good as yours was. I haven't seen him since 1992 - Diamonds & Pearls at Earls Court - as far as I'm concerned he is the greatest showman on the planet - pure purple genius!

Unless you were in the front 2/3 rows of the floor where you would see Prince mega close up, I think the lower tiers were better. The floor seats are not tiered so if there's someone tall in front of you, it's gonna spoil things a bit. In the tiers there's plenty room to boogie and fantastic view! Still swooning about being so close to P!! Never want my memory to fade!

Actually Kings Row consists of 3 pairs of rows, six in total. It still aint worth £75 +fees. No.

I was in King's Row at a gig last week and there were only 2 rows. Standard circle seating behind that.

Spot on! It was worth every penny to have Prince pass so close to me and acknowledge me!!! That wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been in Kings Row.

My mate still has a letter for the VIP bar from Wednesday night with no date on it. Would i be able to chance my arm and use it for the 14th Aug.
