O2 Setlist??????

...so what do we think the setlist for the O2 shows will be??

I'm going on the 4th which I believe is one of the first shows he's doing there, so I'll probably not know ahead of time what the main man is going to play.

I'm hoping for some tracks off the new album, but as this is the first time I would have seen Prince I'm hoping for plenty of the classics. I also picked up Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black" just to check out "Love Is A Losing Game". Would be nice to hear Prince's interpretation of it. Fingers crossed the acoustic set with Wendy will carry through to the O2 gigs as well!!!

What does everyone else reckon???

the great thing about Prince is that no two same shows are the same.
So what he will play on the opening night will be different from what he'll play on the Saturday night.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

I know...having followed his career for many years now, its been apparent that when on tour he likes to mix it up alot. Swings and roundabouts really; I've only recently been able to start forking out money to go to concerts and my first one so far was Madonna on her Confessions Tour last summer. If you know her at all you'll know that she is rigid with her setlist, you get the exact same show whatever night you go to see her on tour.

That being the case there is no variety if you wanted to go see her on more than one night, but at least you know you're not going to miss something special. I'll be proper bummed out if Prince plays some of my faves later on in the tour but not on the night I go to see him. I guess its kind of pot-luck really in that respects as to what songs we'll get on what night.

He's got to close with 'Planet Earth' surely. That has become my favourite track on the album. When that guitar solo kicks in, its game over. Cannot top that.

Being a newbie to this Prince-in-concert thing you'll have to fill me in on this whole "after-party" business. How does one obtain tickets to the party and will the party be at the O2 as well. Good to hear from another Orger who is going on the 4th though!! Have you got good seats?? I think we're in the uppper tier...to be fair though I'm just stoked that I'm going at all!! Have been waiting a long time for this one!

I'm hoping he'll play Planet Earth to, it is one of the best tracks on the new album. Chelsea is my personal fave though, classic funky, radio friendly Prince like in the days of old!

I could hand pick my ideal setlist from that thought it would be a struggle as to what to leave out! I guess we'll know for sure in a couple of weeks.

How amazing is that list, out of the covers I would LOVE:

Dance With Me Debelah Morgan
Brick House The Commodores
I Just Wanna Get Along With You Kelis
Superstition Stevie Wonder

Would love to here his interpretations on those, some of my fav songs. Can't imagine how he would interpret Kelis, I'm sure it would be amazing. Hopefully he will do one of the above at one of the four gigs I'm going to. Out of those songs listed, however, whatever setlist he comes up with - it will be amazing

The reason I love the idea of Rock Lobster is just that it's so out there for Prince. That's what I'd love to hear him do, covers nobody would expect by bands noone thought he liked.
