I can never understand that.

At one point last night, particularly in the aftershow, it was really off putting to have your view blocked by a hundred phones in the air taking crap quality pics and vids.

Why don't people just enjoy the show?

Yeah, why would an all ready multi millionaire give a fuck about people taking shots on their poor quality phone cameras, eh? It's not like the're going to profit from them, is it? And the likelyhood is that if Princey does release a video of his London show, we're all going to buy the fecking thing anyway!

You do ofcourse have a very valid point about the obstruction issue however.

Mark Knopfler is really great about that. On his website is an announcement that no professional equipment is allowed in but amateur pics and vids are ok...just gives a warning not to try to profit from them...

many examples of bands that treat their fans a little better than our beloved prince...
pearl jam making theire own proffecional records of each of thiere concert and sell them for 6-7 quid. on concerts they dont record they incorage fans to record and spread the recordings on the net.
radiohead actually supporting theire own semi official sites in leaking thiere new songs on the net before a record is released, and of course support concert recording (to theire record companies dismay ...)
artist of this level of succsses with such a big base of core fan, dont really get affacted by this. what they achive is that nobody can proffit on theire music because nobody goes buying bootlegs when they are all free on the web. and they achive happy fans that can listen to theire live music even if they cant afford to go to theire concerts
like many things about prince there are contradictions here too .. on the one hand he calims to be so pro his fans with the free release of his cd's and al kind of charity moves. on the other hand there is this agressive fight agains concert recordings.
go figure ...

There are still at least 5 clips there.

There were two women in front of me on Wednesday in VIP seats who I don't think watched any of it. They spent the whole time farting around with their phones. I think Prince wants people to actually pay attention to the show.

The sound on the videos is poor, but there was one shot from on high that had better sound than the VIP seats did on Wednesday.

With us old farts embracing all this new technology in a way that you see literally hundreds of small networked computers raised up to capture a small bit of what is going on ... just imagine what it must be like at the teenybopper shows. It's truly a new age.

During the first show on wednesday, there was a thread on HQ that sort of turned into a real time blog of the proceedings at the O2 venue, with people SMSing in their comments and tracklists. It was so popular, it actually made the HQ site crash at one point.
Me being a technology freak by nature, this type of stuff makes me all tingly.

how do you mannage to download you tube ??

1: Go to http://www.videodownloader.net/
2: Paste the link to the youtube page in the textbox on top of the page.
3: Click on the download button and it starts to search your youtube page (or any other page) for the movie.
4. Wait until there is a new button "Download Link" and use it to download the flv-file.
5. Since you need special players to watch flv-files you may want to convert it.
6. Go to http://www.download.com/3...51552.html
7. Download "Audio/Video To Exe 1.5" (it's free).
8. Install the program on your computer and you can use it to convert the flv-file to any other format (mpg, avi, etc.)
3gp, aac, ac3, avi, exe, flac, flv, gif, mp2, mp3, mp4, mpc, mpg, nut, ogg, ra, rm, swf, vob, voc, wav, wma, wmv, wv,..etc.).

It works with movies from other sites too:
Google Video, Metacafe.com, Filecabi.net, Ebaumsworld.com, you name it!

I found out that "Audio/Video To Exe 1.5" doesn't work. I have version 1.4 which is fine but it is unavailable for download, so:

Go to http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html
Download SUPERĀ©.v2007.build.23(July.04,2007) from the bottom of the page.
This program works too

You do realise that the team that are removing all these clips read both P.org and Housequake don't you ?

Listing where to find them is hardly the smartest move as you're just helping them remove things.
