...just back from the aftershow....I'll speed it as im bloody knackered!
The band came on around 1:20 and were totally funked up. Major horn blowing! Candy Dulfer was there to join in too. Prince turned up on stage about 45 minutes later and then gave some hard rock guitar takes on some familiar tunes inc. Anotherloveholenyohead! Superb. The NPG came back for more, inc. Pass The Peas when they were re-joined by P. We left when they went off stage at about 2:50 so dont know if they returned.

Didn't return after that.
Cool to see him sit in more with the band than showboat. Definitely matured as a musician. 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

i just came back too and prince dressed sharply in red and black and i think he was more exciting to watch at the indigo. main arena show was awsome i was in block D3 row B. i was able to get in row A because the two people in front of me left and I was right infront of prince. throughout he was looking and smiling at me as me and many others sang along with him. iwas in a black velvet blazer and red shirt. i can wait to see hom again on the 13th and 21st september where i have front row seats in block B2 [Edited 8/1/07 22:52pm] Feel free to send me a message and add me as a friend on 'My Space' http://www.myspace.com/murtazaarif

'dre Personally, I'd greatly prefer an aftershow where Prince "showboats" his ass off to an aftershow where Prince "sits in" with the band. In '04 at the House of Blues aftershow in Chicago, I was rather surprised and more than a tad depressed to find myself bored as hell throughout....and then the same thing happened (also during the Musicology tour) at the MPLS aftershow at Paisley Park (except I was even less interested that time around...because really, how many times can one pay to hear the Fonky Baldheads or whoever play "No Diggity" without feeling like a sucker?). Plus, ever since the "Aladdin" DVD, I've had recurring nightmares about "Pass the Peas," and when I wake up I find that my eardrums have exploded yet again. At any rate, I'm glad that you enjoyed it, DreZone.....I just can't understand how in the world Prince doesn't get sick of playing the same cover songs year after year after year -- but yet he can't be arsed to play "Elephants & Flowers" or "Strollin'" or "We Can Funk" or a million other hecka-slammin' songs that he has in his *own* catalogue... ...On the other hand, I'm likely just jealous as hell that Prince is in London for 21 fucking shows, and my poor ass is stuck here in Ohio, reduced to having to check Housequake obsessively, waiting for the reports of the shows. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Well the thing is, we know the man can do his thing, but looking in as a musician, I'd say that a REAL star plays with the team and Prince proved that he was legendary in this aspect IMHO. Also the man did a 2.5hr concert, I'd wanna sit back for awhile and let the band play and do my thing in and out too! I know what U mean about playing the same songs, must be difficult for him to get new listeners or passive listeners while trying to keep the puritans happy! Ohio huh, home of the Players and the late great Roger Troutman ya? 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!
