Saw Prince on Friday 3rd...amazing but been on a downer since!

Saw Prince for the first time on Friday 3rd. This was quite simply the best and most exciting concert I have ever attended.

No other band or performer will come close now so I see no point in going to any other concerts by other artists as it just won't be the same.

Also, I've been on a bit of a downer since Friday as everything around me seems mundane and dull...TV...food...beer...

Thank you Prince for a wonderful memory but it shines so bright and hard in my mind that it eclipses everything else in my life.

I feel sorry for other celeb "artists" who may be attending the O2 shows as surely they feel like packing up and not bothering with music afterwards?

Boy, do I feel that. I've been on a post-awesomePrinceGig-downer as well. Nothing else is exciting anymore.

...except the thought of going again, this Saturday..and the following Tuesday!!!

Oh my god, that's what I've been feeling too! Couldn't work out why I've been feeling so down since I saw Prince on his opening night! I actually went online and bought 2 tickets for his last night and my mood is so much better now! Even though the whole lot is costing me a fortune as I have to fly down from Scotland and stay the night! If I was living in London, I would buy a £31.21 ticket for every night! What are we like!!!???

I know how you feel Gazza. I've been waiting years to go to a Prince gig and went to the Friday 3rd one too.

Cheapest train tickets from oop north here were 92 quid return so I decided to drive down to London. Everything was going great until we were told that the M1 was closed between junction 7 and 6a. Cue 3 hour diversion from junction 11 through St Albans at a crawl to pick up the M25 back down to the M1 again. When we eventually got through the M1 was empty due to the closure! Anyway by the time I parked up and got to our digs just after 7pm we only had a brief chance to freshen up before getting back out fot the tube. Got off the tube at North Greenwich just after 8:30 and had a chance for a quick pint before the gig started.

I believe that the closure also had a knock on effect on the M10 and the A1(M) which both had accidents and severe delays as a result. Did anyone else have difficulty driving into London from the north that day?

Found out the the M1 ended up backed up to junction 11 and only opened again at around 6.30 so it could have been worse, we could have missed the gig and then I would have been pissed.

Prince's performance more than made up for all the frustration though and when we got back on the Saturday we booked more tickets for the Wednesday 12 September gig. Made sure I got 25 quid return tickets on the train though lol

OH my god.
SO GLAD OTHER PEOPLE FEEL THE SAME.
i FEEL LIKE I HAVE HAD A HOLIDAY ROMANCE THAT I HAVE LEFT BEHIND.
i AM SERIOUSLY DEPRESSED. ALMOST WISH I HADNT GONE, OR HAD GONE LATER SO I AM NOT CONSTANTLY WISHING I WAS THERE.
IT IS SO WIERD AS I AM NOT A SADDO USUALLY.
WISH I HAD NOTHING GOING ON IN MY LIFE SO I COULD NIP DOWN FROM SCOTLAND AND STAY FOR ENTIRE RUN.
HOW CAN MUSIC AND ONE PERSON WHO MAKES THE MOST PERFECT MUSIC MAKE U FEEL THAT WAY?
HE MUST BE AN ANGEL...LOL
LOVE HIM

I thought I was mad, I was thinking whats the matter with me I've seen him, my dream has come true now I know thankyou people it helps to know I'm not alone.
My boyf who is not a Prince fan spent most of the night with his arms folded and has told me that no way will he be going again, but then he told I was welcome to travel to London on my own wohooooo!
Why do I keep hitting myself with a hammer? Because it feels so good when I stop.

eek Funny 2 see that I'm not the only 1....I know this feeling since more than 20 years. pp around me don't understand me. Really consoling, that others feel the same. There's no healing, believe me. Glad 2 know, it's not mortal lol

I agree. It's a horrible feeling to think you might never get another chance to see him. It does feel like a dream when you see him so close. I go to sleep at night hoping I'll dream about him, just so I can relive it again! No such luck yet. I'm just trying to consider myself very lucky to have seen him at all. Enjoy the rest of the shows, all of you who are going, and moaners stop moaning. wink

possibility 2 actually get tickets..it's killin me

I was on a terrible downer after the first time I saw Prince in Wembley Stadium many years ago, on the journey home afterwards I was like a hyperactive child but the next day was awful and it lasted days. I can fully sympathise because he leaves me feeling the same everytime, luckily I have two more dates to look forward to. lol
oh mama I wish I could resist ...
