I just came back from the first 02 show There were no queues for Box Office Collection, even at 6pm. That's when the doors were supposed to open. They opened a bit later though.
Prince asked the audience: "London, did u miss me?" The arena is awesome, the stage is shaped as Prince's symbol sign. The speakers hanging from the top look beautiful. The seating plan is exactly like advertised on ticketmaster's website. Most people were in their 30s, maybe late 20s or early 40s. There were almost NO, I REPEAT, NO youngsters. You can take your mobile or camera in with you. They don't mind it but kindly ask you not to record the show. You are allowed to eat and drink while watching the show. We had to stand during the whole show because the fat idiots right in front of us never sat down. The 4th level is scary, it's just too high. We are on level 1. It's not far, but also not too close. A woman invited to dance on stage tried to touch/grab Prince's bum. Prince started his show at 8:30pm sharp and ended it around 10:30pm. He and his two lovely dancers spent most of their time facing the audience "in front". So the location of the seat does matter. He didn't do a leg spread. Is he getting old like me? ) He didn't play any instrument other than the guitar. "Cuz I've seen the top and it's just a dream"

Was it just me or were the vocals lost in the mix? The keyboard bassline seemed to swamp everything out.

'I got more hits than Madonna's got kids'.... he jokes as he, erm, jumps from Lolita to Black Sweat.
He handled the bottom pinching lady pretty well. He didn't lose the rag. And those twins were probably the hardest working people in the room. How the hell they'll manage 21 nights of it is beyond me. Hopefully their non-musical talents will be allowed a pass for the aftershows.

great show guys
prince gave a great show tonight guys - full of energy, humour and funk. even way up high in the clouds everyone was on their feet as he effortlessly blended new songs with old faves for an adoring 20,000 fams a longer version of purple rain than we've been used to recently kicked everything off and then in no particular order: lolita ballad with the words to i'm the 1 u wanna c sung over it satisfied u got the look gnarls' crazy wonderful sax solo by maceo on what a wonderful world take me with u planet earth if i was your girlfiend (so pleased to hear this) controversy feel 4 u (a highlight - went down very well) kiss (also worked very well) shh musicology black sweat west from news (just kidding) the guitar solo work was wonderful to see and hear and the stage looked great london gave prince a lot of energy back and it looks like he's going to have a fun time here any bad points? merchandise is a little yicky and i see he's trying to offload the excess copies of news that have been cluttering up paisley park. also, the twins' roller blading during the encore of planet earth just looked rather bizarre and detracted from the song i'd never been to the dome before but it's a great venue and for those that are going i'd recommend taking the boat and avoiding the tube - the river views were a beautiful start to the evening i just can't wait until friday...and as i don't have work the next day, the aftershow Moo said the cow

I am young (22) & my sister is young (17), we were both there getting down. Was a great show, I think it went on a lil later than 10.30. I bet the people who missed the acoustic set followed by the last few song will be pissed when they find out. The arena half emptied with the house lights full on & Prince walks out through the crowd, jumps on stage & proceeds 2 do a small acoustic set with only his trusty hohner telecaster accompanying him. That truly was a surprise!!!

Just got back myself. I think the shows will get better though this was a good start.
interesting to open with purple rain, felt like the end of the concert already from the start. Floor seats really are not so great, especially E1,E2, F1 (fanclub) I was VIP in E1 3rd row. Every now and then Prince came round, but for the most part the view was very bad. Sound was also terrible as the drums and bass in that area just drowned everything else out. I could not hear a single guitar solo. Only rhythm on the hohner. It did not seem a very guitar oriented concert and voice was also drowned out. A argument broke out in the front row when someone from the block behind the drummer tried to take one of the seats. he was really fucked off but also out-of-order causing a scene and messing up the mood there for a few minutes. Cora is a very good drummer. Quite surprising she kept up the monstrous drums we're accustomed to in Shhh. But please put panels around her drum kit. It's too loud for the close up blocks. Not so impressed with the Bass. Definitely my least favourite so far. Front and front side Lower Tiers really do seem to be the best seats blocks 103-110 looked the best to me. You could be in Row Z of those tiers and you're still going to have a great close view. Upper parts of Upper tiers looked vertical from down where I was. I kept seeing people running up and down the stairs there and it looked like they were climbing the wall. If you have a fear of height it really may be a problem as Ticketmaster have pointed out. I'm not so crazy about Maceo being in the band. Sorry, he is amazing, and so was Mike Phillips but Prince keeps pushing them to solo. Neither Candy nor Eric were ever such a focus and I actually prefer Eric's contribution to P's sound anyway. I saw quite a few young people (young means early 20s) old timers that remember Prince's antics of coming back onstage when people are leaving and the lights are on like me knew not to leave and quietly make your way to the best view points just in case - and yes he did turn up and actually those for me were the best 20 mins. for the encore I was so close to the twinz I could count the leg hairs! They don't have any of course but I could not stop looking . They are a lot more petite than I had realised and really do have the most divine figures. And they worked pretty hard. My position for the encore was totally different, front on and then the view and sound were so much much better.

the only thing i would want 2 c is the symbol stage in full concert. i would have hurled that lettuce at him 4 doing that song as the opener, middle or closer..
and 4 any concert i've ever gone 2, i don't leave until the roadies start breaking down the set. any idea what he played after that other boring song? man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

There was also a lady invited on stage who followed him wherever he went. I was worried we'd have another Koko incident on our hands.
Who was the guy in the blue t-shirt who was well up for it and was great at getting the crowd pumped? He went right to the front of the stage and was having a great time. Anyone here on the org??

There were youngster there last night.
Fucking great show, loved the cover of Come Together. If anyone bought VIP seats, they got screwed, they are too close and the stage was over headheight, they will only see 25% of teh stage. The better seats are in the lower tier, every one of those is a fantastic view. Top tier will be shit. I was in in fan club block and am looking forward to getting into the lower tier. Please all my other tix are in the lower tier. http://www.goldiesparade.co.uk/ - Prince discography, tour history, news and more.
