Overseas tickets changed to box office collection by TM

Hi all

I just got this in the mail from TM. I'm in Paris. Anyone else got the same message? They don't even mention which dates it is for (I have several bookings for shows and aftershows). Online in my order history it still says "your tickets are being prepared for dispatch" or "your tickets have not yet been dispatched"...

----
Dear Customer,

This is an important email from Ticketmaster with regards to your booking for Prince at The O2. As your tickets were due to be dispatched overseas we cannot guarantee their arrival before your event date. In view of this, we have made a decision to put your tickets on box office collection.

Your tickets can be collected from midday on the day of the event from the box office at The O2. Please take the credit card you used to purchase the tickets or identification in order to collect your tickets. If you are not attending the event, please provide the person attending a letter of authorisation which needs to include the information below:

- Full name and address of the customer who booked the tickets
- Customer's telephone number
- Ticketmaster reference number
- Event name
- Event date
- Venue
- Number of tickets purchased
- Name of person collecting tickets
- Details of the type of identification that the person collecting the tickets will provide.
- Last 4 digits of the payment card used to make the booking

We will refund your card with the £3.50 postage paid at the time of booking. This will take up to 15 days to appear in your account.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Kind Regards
Ticketmaster Customer Service Department

I haven't received this email but this just adds to the laughable lack of professionalism and disorganization on TM's part. Regardless of the crooked ass way AEG distributed the tickets (and it was crooked), this is NOT Ticketmaster's first time selling concert tickets but you wouldn't know that from the fucked up way this whole thing has been MISmanaged.

This option should have been made available the instant tickets were sold, not two months later and for FREE. Furthermore, how about giving us the option to print our tickets out ourselves??? confuse Yet another option that shoulda been available when tickets were first sold and for FREE, rather than having to line up like a bunch of cattle at the box office. I'm in the US and I don't think I've ever paid to print my tickets OR pick them up at the box office. This whole wacky situation has me confused and thinking,"WTF????"

I bought the tickets with a credit card that expired in 06/2007, so I destroyed it. I now have a new credit card. So it's obviously not possible to take the credit card I used to purchase the tickets with me to the box office.

They might be leniant on that. Half the time when I pick things up at venues they just give my card a glance. They just want the name and signature really. Besides, whenever I've been issued with a new credit card the number is the same except for the last 6 digits. Unless you're buying an excessive number of tickets then there's no reason for anyone to suspect you of being fraudulent. They'll be able to see that the card expired too.

hi
i got that message about overseas tickets, (i am in ireland). I am going on the 7th & 14th. I have received my tickets for the 14th but no sign of the ones for the 7th. I have e-mailed tm to see if the ones i received are valid, but i have had no reply yet.

Thats interesting, maybe they have decided to post to Ireland? I hope so, it will save a lot of hassle... On leniency as regards the Credit Card/presentation of ID, I was speaking with a TM customer services rep and he warned that O2 is a strict venue when it comes to ticket pick-up and requiring identification...

Nothing new here. Still says preparing for Dispatch. Its said that for a week now. I fly out from the States next Monday. I already realize they wont get here by then. Just gonna suck it up and pay to Fedex them back over. Pickup would be fine since I need to stand in line for my Aftershow tix anyway. Just have to wait and see.

Just email them and ask to change it box office pickup since you're in the states. They changed it for me and are crediting the shipping charge.
