31.21

As I have never been to a concert before, let alone one in the UK, is this a good or bad deal? How does 31.21 compare to say Madonna or U2, what would/have they charged?

Far and away the best pricing of any major artist performing in London this year (and last, and probably next). Madonna's ticket prices normally start at 3 figures, you're paying £40+ just for the nosebleeds with Justin Timberlake, Streisand is £500 for a floor seat, I paid £55 four years ago to see the Stones at the back of a stadium 3x the size of the O2, the list could go on....

To put it in perspective, Michael Jackson at Wembley Stadium 19 years ago was £27.50, and prices have gone through the roof in the last few years. I think a recent Macy Gray performance (admittedly at a smaller venue) had ticket prices starting at £40.

Even with the horrible exchange rate 31.21 ends up being less than I paid last time I saw him in Boston. Seems like a good deal to me. Ended up being about $75 US per ticket after fee's. I think Robbie Williams was slightly higher last fall when I saw him. Not that he even compares but he is quit popular over there.

It is an excellent price for an arena show for a major artist, although the £31.21 price does disguise the fact that a lot of the best seats sold for significantly more!

All tickets have the same cover price, but some were sold with a VIP package and others were sold at auction.

This is a good price, and another way that Prince shows he's in it for the music and audience and not purely for the money. It's not uncommon for big gigs to cost £50 for a ticket.

At this price and with this media profile, Prince should persuade some new people to come along, which would be great. Some artists are getting so expensive to see that it's like the opera - you'd have to be really committed to go along. I'm mystified as to why people pay so much to watch Madonna mime.
