Aftershow - howcome?

I've just been checking the booking pages for the Aftershows via the O2 website, which lead to Ticketmaster. Some nights- like the 18th August which I'm going to- are giving the option of upstairs seated tickets. Other nights - such as 1 August which is what I was looking for- only give the option of downstairs floor standing. They had sold out anyway, but I wondered if this would give any indication as to when Prince was actually playing because upstairs seated tickets doesn't give you access to downstairs (& vice versa) which if it were just a party wouldn't be much fun at all as you wouldn't be able to dance. Whereas if it were more of a concert, it would be fine. It's just got me thinking.... not a good thing at this time of day!!!!

But you'd think that he'd play the 1st night- unless there's a special celeb bash somewhere else? Oooohhh the plot thickens confused

I was getting excited and realized I bought aftershow for the 17th not the 18. That would stink if I got the wrong night.

Hmm, so 13 nights are selling upstairs unreserved seats - all the Fri, Sat, Sun performances, plus the opening night. Unless those were just the dates that initially sold more quickly, in does suggest that there's going to be a more special sort of performance on those nights, don't you think?

They only have balc for 18/8 but they list both for 17/8. If you select balc it still comes back with floor. I think they are just trying to cash in as much as humanly possible.

You can now buy 'Balcony Seat' tickets for the 18th and some other nights!

So is it the general consensus that the nights for which they are selling upstairs seats are more likely to be the nights that Prince is playing? (I hope so because that's the night that I'm going).

Guess it could work either way. If only downstairs tickets are on sale it could be because the upstairs is being reserved for (supposed) VIPS... or, as has been suggested, if they are selling upstairs seat tickets for only some nights then that could be an indication Prince will play.

Damn it's a toughie!!

I'm not sure that Prince would commit to playing the aftershows in advance. I thought he just went with what he felt like on the day, which is why it's a gamble for fans.

Yes, that's what I thought, but it just seems a bit odd, that's all. I'm sure that fun shall be had by all whatever.
Anyway, moving swiftly on .....

I believe that on weekdays, Prince and his band have reserved the balcony area to enjoy the party and wave at the dancing crowd below...
On fri-sat-sun, they don't need the balkony as they are funking up the stage...

The downstairs isn't sold out as I could still get downstairs standing using the "choice" special offer code...
