LIST OF MEETING PLACES FOR 5TH OCTOBER!!! If U think Wetherspoons is a lil' 2 commonplace, I have researched a list of places, where we can meet up if U so desire, reply and let the ORGers know!!! C U on Saturday!
Babushka House, 648 Kings Road, Fulham, SW6 2DO --- One part of a small chain, Babushka House keeps up with the Kings Road reputation with a delectable interior, swathed with beaded curtains, retro lampshades and sparkly, vinyl banquette style seating. With DJ’s every night, expect to hear some relaxed, mellow house during the week, whilst the whole thing gets cranked up on Friday and Saturday. Blue Anchor, 13 Lower Mall, Hammersmith, W6 --- The interior is very much in keeping with the boating theme, with portholes and sailing paraphernalia decorating the walls and bar. The Dove, 19 Upper Mall, Hammersmith, W6 --- Frequented by famous literary locals over the years, including Graham Greene and Ernest Hemingway. The Front Room, 562, Kings Road, Fulham, SW6 --- The Front Room is a fairly basic, minimally designed bar which offers shooters, a good selection of bar dishes and a surprisingly worthy array of cigars. George IV, 185 Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, W4 2DR --- A fairly traditional looking boozer, there is a garden area for summer evenings and an upstairs to accommodate the local crowd. The Hart / Bar Room Bar, 383-385 King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9NJ --- The Hart is a spacious bar with a selection of areas to sup your drinks and munch on pizza, with Hoegaareden on tap and Leffe, Tiger and Michelob by the bottle. Leather loungers break up the space with a wooden decked terrace and outdoor tables surrounded by lush climbing plants. A wood fired oven knocks out a good selection of pizzas and pizzettes. Old Ship, 25 Upper Mall, Hammersmith, W6 --- Another popular riverside pub, the Old Ship can be found on the edge of the Thames. The service is easy and laid back with a good pub menu and selection of seafood. The Raven - As recommended by Clark Ainsworth, BBC London, 375 Goldhawk Road, Hammersmith, W6 0SA --- "There are gastropubs and then there are ghastly-pubs. Thankfully, the Raven in Goldhawk Road, is one of the former - excellent well-priced food, good choice of wines, and a fantastic local to boot. Whether you've got five minutes and want a quick beer and some nibbles or a you've got a free afternoon and want to get to know the menu and the wine list- the Raven is the perfect port of call." Rutland Ale House, 15 Lower Mall, Hammersmith, W6 --- This is a modern, wooden floored pub where you can sip your beer at one of the many tables outside. There is jazz, blues and mellow tunes in the balcony bar on Wednesdays and Sundays in the summer and Fridays in the winter. There is also a full and platter menu. The White Horse, Parsons Green, Fulham, SW6 --- Full of young professionals, the White Horse occupies a luxurious location on the edge of Parsons Green. With seating out the front and old battered leather sofas inside, with a good wine list and generous selection of light dinner dishes. Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!
