18/08/07; my girlfriend bought two vip tickets to the show. she had to get vip tickets because ticketmaster and their cronies made sure that they would milk this show for all it was worth and the £31.21 tickets were left to the folk with binoculars. this was going to be the trip of a lifetime and so we traveled 560 mile round trip to be welcomed by, no seat in the vip lounge back stage. had to ask for vege food 5 times before getting a couple of vol au vonts and 4 small bottles of drink each. the first act was pretty much a pub act. prince came on a full hour later than billed and left the stage on numerous occasions. one and half hours in total and messed about for much of that. this little package cost the best part of £500.00. or if you bother to read this prince $1000.00. this might be a pittance to you but not to us. could have put up with the rip off at the bar but to see the look on my girlfriends face when you finished early so as to go to the after show party for a couple of hours was a serious p off. she has been a lifelong fan of prince and he could do no wrong but she refused my offer after the 'main' show of getting some tickets to the after show. she has told me of days gone by when eileen ran the fan base and front row tickets were £25.00 and if you were a true fan the after show was magical so long as you could find it. once in though one could expect to meet the band members or even the man himself. i was a prince concert virgin until the 18th and to be honest i knew nothing of the man until i met my girlfriend, however, i soon found his music to be good, his guitar playing even better but the facts that he was a vege and a biker clinched it for me. such a sad shame that so many came away from that concert so dissilusioned with a sense of being well and truly ripped off. ps thanks for nothing ticketmaster, you bunch of thieving tossers. i will never purchase anything from or through you again. may you rot in pieces. sad

i agree with ya.....

almost exactly the same as our trip wilfred. the whole lot was a disgrace. i have contacted tm and they deny all responsibility, stating that, they only sell the tickets and that the o2 stadium is responsible. WOLFY, lead us in this matter, i think your idea that we should go at this en force is the right approach. i am sick and tired of the people of this country being shafted at every opportunity. the english are the worst people for letting it ride until it becomes unbearable ( i am english by the way) we should take a leaf out of the french's book and stand up for our rights and sort out the shysters of this world. i thought we had traveled a long way for an hour and a half entertainment wilfred, but "holland", COME ON PRINCE, READ THIS AND DO THE RIGHT THING.

by uk consumer law, ticketmaster are the only people responsible. the reason why is because that is who you bought the tickets from. they are responsible for providing the goods or services as advertised at point of sale. you didn't buy your tickets from the o2, you didn't buy your tickets from AEG, and you didn't buy your tickets from prince.

ticketmaster advertised XYZ and it's up to them to provide that. if part of the goods or service wasn't correctly fulfilled because of another party, TM is still responsible. thats just like you paying a builder for works at your home, he pays some other guys to do the work, they make a mess or don't do the work correctly, but you don't take the problem up with the workmen, you take it up with the builder that you paid and contracted to do the work

you paid TM for a show etc, if prince didn't provide the show, you don't chase prince, you chase TM. it's them between TM and prince (or TM and AEG etc) to then take that issue up between themselves if TM has to refund you because AEG didn't fulfill an obligation

when you contact TM you need to make this quite clear, and make them aware that under the sale of goods act 1994 you are within your rights to a refund as they didn't provide the goods and services as advertised at point of sale. if they blame it on AEG, prince or jehova, you have to politley tell them that you didn't purchase any goods or services from any other party, you purchased the tickets from TM thus it is thier statutory right to resolve the issue directly with yourself as the customer

VIP seats are not worth the price. Thery ok but not that amount of cash.
i had 5'4'' girls behind me and im pretty sure they did not see much of the show.

if they sat on regular seats they would have enjoyed way more. me too...

Hi Wolfy

I like that idea, think i'll join ya and not line their pockets anymore ..... also might write 'Slave' on my cheeks as Prince did in the early 90's when he thought Warners were exploiting him, as I think the VIP tickets are exploiting the fans, be funny if we all turned up in VIP seats with Slave written on our faces, that'd spook him when he looks out from the stage !!!

biggrin What a fantastic idea!! thank you for makin me smile.

I must admit, I think I'd be really pizzed off if I'd spent £235 to sit at the back of the stage, so low down that you can't see most of the goings on. When I was in my vertigo inducing upper tier spot last week I was looking down and thinking that some of the VIP seats looked really naff sad

thats the most recent thread on HQ, but if you look back that forum you will maybe find an earlier one with more info (or do a search)

i've given fairly detailed instructions on how to obtain a refund if you got vip from TM and got seats behind the stage, it's very simple too

explain to person one, then ask for a line manager as they won't be able to help them. note names, job titles, extension numbers, times and dates of all calls so you have a log of who you spoke to

good luck

we have been offered a refund (how much we are not sure yet) alternatively a free trip with a proper vip reception but not such good seats bearing in mind we were 4 rows from the front of the stage last time. will make final decision tomorrow and let you all know the outcome. most importantly, we received a genuine apology from a lovely lady. good luck to you all. will write again soon.

phone 02075362600 and ask for "maxine" this lovely lady apologized for the lacklustre vip treatment we received on the 18th and has offered us a proper vip reception with seats in the upper tier. to my mind maxine, who works for aeg, has come up trumps by making this offer. and ticketmaster should hang their heads in shame. we were put off going to see any acts at the dome after our last experience ,despite loving the dome itself, however, by making this gesture of goodwill maxine has convinced both shez and me to travel the best part of 600 miles round trip again. shez is over the moon at the prospect of seeing her hero again so if you read this PRINCE let's have a bit more than an hour and a half this time ( the 20/09/07 ) MAXINE, YOU ARE A SWEETHEART. THANK YOU. AND MAY LORD BUDDHA GRANT YOU MUCH GOOD KARMA.

I have been given tickets for the VIP on 9th September for my friend and myself and Maxine dealt with my complaint. Do think we should give some credit to Radio 5 live and the Guardian newspaper for taking up this matter on our behalf - although AEG seem to have got the message and been really helpful to us all.

I went VIP on the 1st night and although I was pretty happy with where I sat, I was massively disappointed with the reception not being at all as-described or worth the money. Amongst other things it started about 40minutes late, there was a total abscence of any 'pre-show entertainment' and my dinner consisted of about 10 vol-au-vents which I had to chase the waiters for.
Do you guys think that's worth complaining to AEG about? Or do they seem to be only giving refunds for crappy seats?

message to lovecat.....telephone the number given about 3 posts up from this one and ask to speak to MAXINE. this lovely lady will sort you out with a special offer. maxine is concerned about people who have had a lousy vip experience and is more than willing to make amends for your disappointing vip experience. we had brill seats and were able to see prince so close you could smell his aftershave but this made no difference to maxine because our vip bit was rubbish and she has sorted it for us. you will get a choice of nights and if you pick the 20th shout out YODA and we will meet and toast our good fortune....

Thankyou yodaferret!! I will most certainly give her a ring! Just need 2 work out what I'm going to say.
Hope you don't mind me asking how you ended up talking to her in particular? I mean will she think it's a bit suspicious if she suddenly gets calls from more of us wanting refunds?

not sure whether this is the right thread but ive found that £31.21 is a very reasonable prince for block 111 row D, Block A2 row A, block C2 row B, Block 102 row H, block 103 row M(21st sept) etc

I wish other artists offered value like that
