My first Prince concert too. And I'm 36! Feel like I should apologise for that really. This is more like a pilgrimage for me smile I'm going to see a living musical genius who, well... there are no words for me to explain my love of Prince's work smile

I feel the same - like I am going to see a living musical legend. I have seen tons of concerts but this is only the second time I will be seeing Prince. My first was the Hammersmith Apollo and I was right back, up high (wasn't a npgmc member then - he said about it at the show and I joined when I got home and KICKED myself that I had missed sound checks and aftershows). Anyway - even at the top it was absolutely amazing. Such a great night I hope this equals it.

YAYYYYY one week to GO.

I'm only 26, but still...I've missed so many great tours, both from Prince, Madonna and loads of other artists I love (the Pink Floyd Pulse tour in 1994 would have been awesome!). Unfortunately, we've ony really been financially secure enough to warrant paying the big bucks for concert tickets, accomodation etc. After seeing Madge last year though I think I've caught the concert going bug!! And I've been dreaming about since Prince since I was a kid.

What nights are you all going on?? You guys heading to the after party as well??

And I bet she played exactly the same set each night. I saw her on her birthday night & I have to say that I found it all a bit tired & too well rehearsed (apart from the topless male dancers who jollied the whole thing along nicely!!!) & 2million quid for that crystal mirror ball thing that she climbed out of. I'd have made her 1 from mirrored bathroom tiles for half the price & nobody would have known the difference. She could have then knocked a few quid off the ticket price!

Just looking forward to seeing Prince again. I saw him in 2002, when he didn't play many hits and his current record wasn't the strongest. I saw him in about 98 as well, which was fantastic, in 1993 which was great and in 1990 which was excellent although the sound wasn't the best. I'm looking forward to hearing the old hits and stuff from Musicology and Planet Earth particularly, but it'll all the great. And I'm hoping he really does mix the set up a bit, so that I hear different stuff on the three nights I'm going. I've been playing Prince (both old and new) a lot more in the run-up to these concerts, so I'm well ready for it now. It's gonna be a beautiful night...

Excited!

It's my first Prince gig in 17 years...

I guess I'm lucky being old...39...been a Prince fan for almost a quarter of a centuary!

Got to see the parade, sign o the times, lovesexy and nude tours here in the UK....but then concentrated on family and work commitments!

Now I'm taking my wife, who's also a fan, to her first gig and my first aftershow on the 17th August!

See you all there...anyone want to meet up?

Excited... I'm over the moon!!!!

It's ridiculous really cos this has completely taken over my life since I bought tickets 3 weeks ago.
I'm boring my family and work colleagues silly cos all I talk about and listen to is Prince.
I wake up in the middle of the night every night with a different Prince song in my head.
Whenever I'm on the computer I'm on the org or watching clips of Prince on various other websites.
I keep promising myself that I'll take a complete break from anything Prince related until I see him on the 18th but it's no good wall
Excited?....I'm absolutely obsessed and need help sick

biggrin It has been so great to get into Prince tour mode again and re-live '92,'93 and '95 when i saw nearly all of his UK shows! Obviously mortgages, cars, etc have taken over but i will make the very most of my 2 main shows and 2 aftershows! Only 2 weeks to go and it is cool 2 hear the feedback from those who have been so far! As he is changing the setlist every night there will no doubt be a few gems up his sleeve 2 surprise us with! cool
