There's a hell of an audio interview of Claude Nobs (Big boss of the Montreux Jazz Festival, in french). He speaks of Prince, Larry Graham, Sly & The Family Stone. http://festivals.rsr.ch/?p=540

A few things that are said that I can translate are that:
- Prince added special jazz songs since this surprise night had been called "surprise jazz night"
- Claude Nobs saw the budjet of this concert, and it appears clearly that Prince payed most of this concert from his own money
- Prince's musicians came an played the two nights before the concert in Claude's house, and this certainly encouraged the warm exchanges that ensued the day of the concert, including Prince calling Claude Nobs early at home, the day of the concert, to ask him to help him get hold of 3 discs no more availlable (Anita Baker, Shade[first album], All Green[grestest hits]), which Claude had in his huge discotheque, ... so

About Sly:
- They were woried because Sly already f**ked up at The Grammy Awards last year, but Claude's contact reassured him. (FYI: for those that didn't know, Sly complete f**ked up again this time in Montreux, only "hummed" 3 songs)
- Claude Nobs discovered the tracklisting of the concert, with unreleased songs, and managed to find these songs (cd) and ordered 1000 immediately, and was hoping that Sly would really play these songs. Unfortunately when Sly arrived the day of the concert, it was clear that Sly was ill (physically).

Hope you enjoy the interview. (there are 3 other reports on the same website, http://festivals.rsr.ch/?p=525 - http://festivals.rsr.ch/?p=529 - http://festivals.rsr.ch/?p=530 )

Review the thread title again and do an Internet search your own self, ya lazy bastid. mad

What's wrong with kids today? confused

Back when I was your age, I had to look shit up using an abacus. Nowadays, muthafuckas got computers and the whole damned Internet at their fingertips and they're too damned lazy to look up basic shit on their own. disbelief

technically, this is not possible because an abacus is a counting device. an old version of the calculator some would say.

geek

You sayin' I wasn't able to perform research using an abacus?

Heck, you should have been around to see what I was able to accomplish with a slide rule. wink
