Paisley Park tour w / pictures I was at Paisley Park on Sunday July 8th minutes before the storm hit.
It was surreal in some ways... I was afraid to enter at first, just wanted to take pictures from the outside (did not want to be hauled to jail for tresspassing) but my limo driver said that the park was open to the public and so we went in and I took several pictures. I will post them tomorrow. Loved the purple flowers in the front so pretty! so princey! For those of you who were wondering what is inside the round structure. I peaked into the window so that I could write this.... it is empty! It is not his residence as some orgers posted. As we were exiting the park we saw some packages by the gate on the lawn... they were probably left there by fans. The storm was about to hit and I wanted to move them inside to protect them from the weather but I was afraid to touch them. My limo driver said to leave them as they were. On our way out we saw a sign laying on the grass half visible "No tresspassing, video surveillance blah! blah! blah!....." Ooops! it was too late! [Edited 7/11/07 18:30pm]

Girl66 and I were there on Saturday night until about 3.30am. Don't worry about the sign, it happens all the time and nothing ever happens. If you only stayed in the main parking lot, they just wait until you leave. Now, how did you get a limo driving you all the way down to Paisley, either you're rich or you paid a lot of money that night. It's a big drive to Chanhassen.

He lives in an apt. upstairs, or so I'm told. Everyting else on the main level is cleared out, and all the employees were let go. He doesn't have a house here anymore, so that's where he has to shack up when he's around. If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

He has a place in Woodbury where I live. When he's not here, CJ house sits for him. Remember the two guards from the Get Off video? The ones that opened the doors? They're standing out front. On my way home, I'll take a pic of them and post it.
Oh, and Brown mark lives there too, he tends to the yard and stuff. Life my azz muthafucka, dis is a bitness!!

I really don't think it's right for people to go inside the gates at Paisley Park and take pictures. It is a business, but except for the celebrations and parties I've never heard that it is "open to the public."
The structure can still be admired from afar without stepping onto the property. It's almost like someone walking up to your house (or condo, apartment, whatever) and looking in the windows and taking pictures. Wouldn't you feel weird if somebody did that? I know he's a public figure and what not, but I think it shows respect. I took pictures at the gate and it wasn't open. But even if it was I would be too afraid to do anything otherwise.

The gate is still up and the security house was still there (no one inside but there was a mountain bike leaning against it) but you can see clearly that the top of the hill was empty...the house is gone. I posted this information before ( http://www.prince.org/msg/7/224395 )...Paisley Park looked pretty quiet also...atleast the egg building did...there was material hanging from the walls...needs to be torn down. I really don't think Prince would get rid of PP...it cost $10 mill in 1985...so imagine what it would be worth now? I do believe his apartment is on the top floor towards the back...it was the room Gangsta Glam was filmed in. Prime aka The Kid

I would not have entered it if the sign was upright as I do respect Prince's privacy. The limo driver is a Minneapolis resident and told me that Paisley Park is like a museum and it is open to the public. Had he said otherwise or had I seen the sign before I would not have entered the Park. On second thought I will just post a couple of pictures I took from the road as I don't want to offend Prince. I guess I sounded like somebody's mom there, huh? On second read it did sound kind of harsh. I guess what I was trying to say was that I wouldn't do that, but everybody is entitled to do their own thing, so to each his or her own.

There never was anything in the "egg" except storage, because there never was a specific purpose for the building,or the purpose of it would change on a weekly basis. Now its just fancy storage. There is an underground tunnel that connects it to Paisleys'basement garage. Prince has a private apt on the 2nd floor in the rear of the studio complex never had one in the egg. Paisley Park is not a museum and it's not open to the public. There is video survailance, they just dont bother you if your only in there for a few minutes. Photography is definitely frowned upon but they aren't gonna catch ya if you just take a few photos and leave. Getting out of your car and walking around the grounds is a big no-no. You might get away with it but if you get caught your gonna feel like a major ass. Would you want people walking around your yard, looking in the windows? The gate is usually locked when noone is working in the studio. There are only about 3 full time employees who are kept busy thats why people arent out there keeping you from driving around the parking lot. [Edited 7/11/07 4:42am]

Thank yo Ann and I feel blessed to have met you! Hey Amanda! How are ya? I did not get a chance to come back to the line as I didn't think I could make it back in time, I did not want to risk my Macy's ticket for the First Ave show. So I just decided to go to the Macy's show instead. The Macy's show was TOTALLY AWESOME !!! I was in the second row from the stage! I can understand you were not feeling that great after staying out in the hot sun for so long. Glad I could be of help with the food, water and umbrellas (I really liked those Van Gogh wild Irises umbrellas!! ). Prince should have a better way to sell his tickets, his fans shouldn't have to suffer so much to see him in concert, especially the ones coming from out of town. I heard the First Ave show was not that great, I can't see how they could have fit 1600 people in that small space! I would be claustrophobic! I wouldn't want to smell someone's funk! So I am happy I got to see Prince up close at Macys and at the Target center show. You had better seats at the Target center show than I did! I finally had to stand in the aisle as I could not see the show from my seat. In all it was a fun week-end, I met several orgers and many Prince fans!

Oh, and Brown mark lives there too, he tends to the yard and stuff. Does he really??? I can't see prince in woodbury. He seems like more the Minneapolis person and he grew up there (i live near st. paul).. You know how it goes here... people who live in st. paul dont like to go to msp on a regular basis and vice versa.. not everyone.. but lots think that way and it's funny! I went to the concert and i almost cried when i heard purple rain! This was my first prince concert and i LOVED it! Minus the awkard ending and the fact that i didn't know about first ave until the next day! I haven't been to Paisley Park but I'd like to go by it. My boyfriend is a pilot so maybe some weekend i'll get him to fly over it!! I must say that I got the impression, from the target center concert, that prince still digs his people up here! We're not talking about Paisley Park but Loveoneanother Charities which is located on another spot. If you look at the map Lot 7A and 7B are located on the other side of Audubon Road (which I didn't know belonged to him).
