shrug
What can ya do? sigh

I guess it's not like I've never seen a show... I'm just tired of hearing what a great time all these people had in Vegas, LA, MPLS, and next in London... he's so close and couldn't give us a little something?! neutral

(We'll make our own "Prince fun" next month, Paisley! wink)

I don't think there will be a Hamptons afterparty sad , but I am going anyway I will meet up with some other fans there!

I think it is a time factor for Prince as he has another show scheduled for Switzerland on the 16th and he will lose a day travelling east to make it to the show. So he will have to fly out soon after the Saturday show ie on Sunday Morning!
Yeah, but there was time for a Hamptons-before-party...tonight.

If there's no show, I hope he uses that Airport in LI...the one no one can ever remember the name of.
It would add insult if he were to land in NYC, just to play LI and then to come back into NYC, just to leave NYC without playing NYC...

...to head to that other country for 21 nights.

Islip. That's the airport you're thinking of.

I am bummed...was really hoping for something since I couldn't go to Vegas, LA or MPLS (stupid low paying job!) and it's been over a year since he did GMA/Butter. But it doesn't look like it's going to happen. cry

I think it's because Friday the 13th is inauspicious...but it would be lucky for us fans. biggrin Please add me to the orgnote chain letter if anyone hears anything. smile

It's not. It's just another day. But you have a good point. Maybe he believes this. Still, he could perform one second after midnight and it would be a new day. But even then, we would have heard something at this point.

You're right...I should have posted "I think it's because Prince might think it's inauspicious." You wouldn't think he would, but then again he does like number (games).

If he waits until 12:01am he might get in trouble with the organizers of the Hampton's gig it their "contract" stipulates anything about him only playing their show on July 14.

I don't want to say I'm disappointed because I know that Prince doesn't "owe" us anything, but I am surprised he hasn't done anything on the east coast yet. I can only hope that good things will come to those who wait. Maybe our turn will be after London. pray

How about 22 Nights at Madison Square Garden? Or whatever it takes to get the record there. But how many nights could he sell out there?

He's done everything one could hope or ask for. But if he's really trying to prove a point (and 21 shows in London... certainly proves one heck of a point) then he needs to nail something in the US in a similar fashion. The SuperBowl might have been it. But the follow-up... you know that stage is going to make the rounds in the US

Not mine.
Besides, he probably doesn't even like the number 22.

I was kind of disappointed too. But then I realized that we are all being selfish. Prince is performing at a fundraiser...for children.
May a Ross School Child never be deprived of Indian Style Chick Pea Stew with Coconut Milk as well as the option of at least two other entrees.

Bless those Ross School parents for being wise enough to work this type entertainment into a tax write off.

So let's not be so demanding on the guy, he has to rest up for all those London aftershows.

If an aftershow should occur (but I don't think so) I only need two hours notice. Please post here so anyone even remotely close can get there. It takes prince two hours between a show and the aftershow if not longer, so even if they announce at the end of the show, there should still be time if you are in the tri state area and you leave immediately.
