A little forethought Prince... Forethought would have been nice. On the other hand, Prince is calling to ask her to play with him in Minneapolis. There are worse phone calls in this world. "What kind of fuck ending is that?"

22YearFan said: Prince is ALWAYS late. I have been to over 50 shows and it starts "FASHIONABLY LATE" all the time. Me and wife went to Paisley Park for the filming of "Raveun2theyear2000" for New Years Eve. (Which by the way wasn't nowhere near December 31, 1999, we just had to pretend!). Any way, the show was supposed to start at 8:30 I believe and at 10:00 we were still standing outside the gates of the property freezing our ***** off in 25 degree weather.
After we were finally let inside the show started around 11:45 p.m. and then he got 2 or 3 songs into the show and got pissed off because he almost slipped and busted his ass. So they started all over again from the top (with a rug on the stage) almost 45 minutes later. The show started at 12:15 or 12:30 a.m. But no he is NEVER LATE. OMG COLD!!

Since about 14 months, hahaha... Actually if she/they adopted she may not have gotten a new born, so she would not have had a kid for 14 months. But since people are saying her partner gave birth so be it. The article makes it seem like she gave birth herself 14-months ago. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Forgive me, but I'm still a little confused. Just so I have this straight. Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman were together a long time ago, they're still friends and work together. Now, Wendy is with Lisa Cholodenko, and through whatever means, they have a child. Is that all correct? Gotta love the Purple One......

That is correct. AND Lisa Coleman actually got pregnant and had a baby(at least I think it's a biological baby and not adopted). there is no "late" or "on time" with Prince. he's operating in a whole different zone than us mere mortals. whenever he gets there and starts playing, it's the right time! keep that in mind for furture refernce. Ok?!!!! we're like two petals from the same flower, baby...

jn2 said: During the Target Center, Prince called Melvoin "my bestest friend in the world." I thought it was Larry. That's not exactly what he said. He called her ONE OF his bestest friends in the world. I keep seeing it misquoted and that changes the meaning. He did not say that she was his bestest friend, he said one of. Who knows how many "bestest" friends he has. Sheila and Larry are probably among them as well. As a former journalist, all the sloppy journalism that I have seen regarding these shows is grating on my nerves. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

I hate the standing and waiting too. It doesn't bother me as much to sit and wait. However, I have been going to shows for nearly two decades and I can't recall too many that have ever started on time, outside of broadway shows. Also, it's not always Prince. I remember one show at the Riviera in Chicago where the venue was taking so long that Prince's camp said just let everybody in because he was ready to perform. We didn't even get tickets that night. They literally just let everyone in line into the show. It also happened at the ONA show at the Chicago Theatre. The band started playing as people were still filing in.
Also, at First Ave the delay was partially due to the slowness of the First Ave crew in moving and setting up the equipment. Prince's people came out a couple of times to ask what was taking so long. Then things got moving quicker when Prince's techs came to set up stuff. The band started playing the music to 3121 and the lights were turned down because the techs were still cleaning up behind the First Ave crew. Also, the gate had to be moved back, because First Ave had it too close to the stage to accomodate equipment. There was a lot going on, but all in all I think it was a great feat to pull off the three shows in 12 hours no matter how long or short the shows were. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...
