Cameras

Minneapolis will be my first live Prince experience. I'd love to be able to have a couple pictures from each show; however, all the info I've seen has cameras & camera phones are not allowed at either Macy's or Target Center.

Is this true? Any veterans that can lend me some advice on this subject? I'd hate for my wife to somehow dance on stage, and me not be able to take a picture!

Thanks--

Anxiety

I would really proceed with caution. In a larger venue, like the Target Center, I don't think you'll have much of a problem taking a cell phone w/ camera capabilities in and snapping a quick furtive shot or two, but in smaller spaces...like, say, Macy's or Paisley, I'd keep the cameraphone in your pocket, or even in your car or hotel room. My experience is that they're not TOTAL fascists about not letting you bring in cameraphones as long as you don't use them, but to bring in an actual digital camera would probably be a bad idea.

Dont use flash if u cant help it. At the Essence 2004 fest, we could freely snap away at Prince with no problem cause it was a larger venue and not enough Prince security smile But in a smaller venue like the Roosevelt, you cant snap any pictures of him. Bring a very small camera. If you got "night vision" where you can take a picture clearly without a flash, you gotta chance:) Just be quick and be aware of security tho....

I'm going to bring a camera. If they have a problem with it I will just hand over the batteries.

Cameras are a bad idea. he hates having his pictures taken especially with flash and is likely to ask the person next to you to twist your neck. Last concert I went to in london in 2002 security were really checking what people were doing with their mobile phones during the concert, and that was 5 years ago with relatively poor technology. Now I could stick a massive memory card in my phone and record the whole thing the thought of which probably drives Prince nuts.

After the aftershow had ended at the Rio I took a picture from where i was stood of the stage set up, and within a few seconds I was apologising and deleting said picture from my camera, and that was just a picture of some musical instruments!!

Wow. Thanks for all the info. I might buy a cheap disposable with no flash. I'd just like one or two pictures to remember it by if possible.
