Aftershow at Paisly Park? So does he always do an aftershow at PP? I don't know where to book my hotel, do I stay by PP, or in Minneapolis? Any advice?

Ex-Moderator | Do not book a hotel in Chanhassen unless you plan to rent a car. It's a looooong drive from Mpls.
I think it's kinda up in the air. I don't remember a major show in Mpls in the last 5-7 years where there wasn't some kind of after party (even if no show) at the Park. But then again, I don't know if anyone knows if it's even ready for any kind of event. Nothing's happened there in years, he'll have already done 2 shows in one day, I don't know if there's even any kind of staff there right now, etc. So yeah, we can speculate all we want, but it's really tough to say at this point. |

From what I heard, they had an afterparty show after Tamar's performance at the auditorium in 2006.

Dr. Mambo's Combo played and had a nice show. (Michael B., Sonny T., JellyBean, Margie Cox and maybe Chance...hmmm...but there were some Prince ties on the stage...and, again, the show was great!) Most of the folks were kind of sitting on their hands though as they were thinking Prince might come out. We need 2 come 2gether, come 2gether as ONE

Please Please Please Please say there is going 2 be an after party at P.P.
This is my first time being able 2 make it 2 Minneapolis and although I am happy enough just 2 see him in his hometown on 07/07/07 Nothing would beat also being able 2 see him at the park. Peace & Love

That's a looooong drive for me! I never drive more than 5 miles if I can help it. |

As of the last few years they have been open to the public, ranged in price from $7-$50 and there hasn't been an enforced dress code. |

Are you on an e-mail list? I am new, don't know who "Mr. Hayes" is. Is he the Stanford guy? Do you know how I can contact him? Or get on his list. I think he is the guy that sends out e-mails when he knows there is a party at PP, usually within a few hours of the party....I am in the dark on this, but want to rock out all night!

Mr Hayes plays keyboards for Prince and he's one of my myspace friends. I did something for Prince where I had to contact some of the folks in his camp, but Mr. Hayes is the only one that I kept in touch with. I'll ask the twins about the after party too they are pretty responsive...

It was either $40 or $45 back in 2004. It's first come first served - sooner you show up, the closer you get to the stage - and brother, you best believe being right up close to the stage at Paisley Park is one damn special experience. It does not get any better than this. Of course, if Larry is there, or if Prince doesn't play "Purple Rain", there will actually be people around you with the unmitigated gall to be bitching about these things, but that's their problem. One of the baddest musicians to ever walk the Earth is 2 feet away from your nose playing his ass off. For hours at a stretch. And giving YOU a high-five. I am *NOT* bullshitting you - it does NOT get any better than this. They started letting folks inside the barriers to form a line outside at 9pm in 2004 at which point there were only a few people present as most planning to attend the aftershows were probably at the arena gigs that early on those evenings, and the doors to Paisley Park itself opened around 12am - opening act went on around 12:15-12:30am, Prince usually played around 1:30-2:00am and played from 2-3 hours. Be aware there is no bar at Paisley Park. Have fun!
