The Adventures of Buying 3121 Tickets at the Roosevelt

The Incredibly True Adventures of Emailing Hollywood Roosevelt for Prince Tickets

With the announcement of Prince's intimate concerts at the Hollywood Roosevelt yesterday, we are sure the email hotline they released (3121HRH@ThompsonHotels.com) has been burning up with ticket requests.

A good Friend of HotelChatter, who is a bit naive in thinking that she will actually be able to acquire these coveted tickets without any sort of celebrity attachment, emailed her request for Prince tickets yesterday. We're live on the scene with her story.

MORE

Our dear FOHC kindly emailed Thompson Hotels with this request below along with her credit card number and expiration date in hopes of expediting the process. (We blacked out her name and CC info so you net identity hacks don't wet your pants in excitement.)

Hello!

I'd like to buy 2 Standing Room Only Tickets to Sunday Night's performance
Sunday, June 24

2 (Two) Standing Room Only Tickets ($312.10/each)

That's a pretty clear request, no? Especially since she put her credit card info in there. But the robots at the Thompson Prince hotline sent back this automated reply:

Thank you for your interest in the 3121 live concert series being held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel a Thompson Hotel. At this time tickets are available for Saturday June 23, Sunday June 24, Thursday June 28, Friday June 29 and Saturday June 30.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING EMAIL ENTIRELY BEFORE REQUESTING A BOOKING.

There are 2 types of tickets available:

Reserve Seating - $3,121.00 USD and includes 2 seats (no single seats or odd # seats will be sold): Also included:
· 7:30pm prefixed dinner @ The Dakota restaurant prepared by Prince's personal chef, followed by the exclusive Prince concert in the Blossom Ballroom. Tax, gratuity & parking are not included.
Seating for the concert begins at 9:00pm for Blossom Ballroom show.
Access to the Jazz Session in the Historic Lobby following concert (general admission seating)
Tickets are non-refundable and will be available at Will Call on the day of the event. Actual credit card and card holder's picture ID must be presented to claim tickets.

General Admission - $312.10 USD and includes 1 standing room ticket (standing room tickets will allow a clear & close view of stage).
General Admission seating grants you access to pre-concert party in the Historic Lobby Bar at 7:30pm and admission into the Blossom Ballroom at 9:30pm.
Tickets are non-refundable and will be available at Will Call on the day of event. Actual credit card and card holder's picture ID must be presented to claim tickets.

The reply then goes on to list some rules (bring the credit card and your ID with you to will call) and then they make you fill out again the dates and types of tickets you want along with your CC info and billing address.

But we see they ask you to send it back to another new email address: reserveprince@thompsonhotels.com.

[By the way, all this crap in the email can be found on the Roosevelt's website, so it's not really like our friend progressed to the next step or anything.]

But our sweet-natured FOHC wrote back all the info immediately last night at 5pm PST. As of today, she still hasn't heard back from anyone. For all she knows some robot has her credit card information and is charging up a fortune at Best Buy.

Ok, we kid. But if you have gotten through to someone at Hollywood Roosevelt or if you have purchased Prince tickets through a legitimate means (not that we won't accept the occasional story about a back-alley encounter), tell us how you did it.
