I have been informed it is the ROOSEVELT HOTEL that is selling the tickets at the current OVERPRICED rate since they have to Pay Prince his fee.

Prince actually requested tix 2 b $77.07

There is only 1 sponsor 4 not that much and only 200 ppl versus the 1000 at the Rio.

Surely P can do math and should have known what the Roosevelt would have to charge to make any money. Or is the Roosevelt trying to make a killing on this?

in order to get the 3 million dollars back they have to charge what the are charging .do the math it come out right to 3 million dollars

he asked for x number of dollars for 7 shows so he new they would have to charge this much if not more to get there money back.if he wanted them to only charge 77 dollars a ticket he should been payed alot less but i bet he aint having none of that.

Hmm...well I guess it's cool that Prince only wanted to charge $77.07. It would be a lot cooler if he actually tried to do something about it and get the Roosevelt to go along, but I guess a contract's a contract and he's getting paid regardless. Hopefully all this cash will equal affordable tix when he finally makes it to New York.

vegas was different the hotel made a loss on the concerts and made up the slack at the tables!!

The tix at LA are priced for celebrties and there r pleny of those in LA

Maybe a sponsor dropped out. That's possible, too.

Curious, though - why did the hotel pick the "3121" themed prices? Whem most people think of Prince and numbers, I think "1999" comes to mind first.

It is weird to think that the TOTAL number of people able to see these shows (200 x 7 = 1400) is equal to one sold out show at First Ave. or about the amount of people who will see him at the Macy's Performance.

Remember, they would charge 4 alcohol and most likely want the tables 2 have bottle service, which would be about $400-$600 per bottle and most likely would want each table 2 get about 2 bottles a night. They sure ain't gonna be satisfied if u r orderign Diet Cokes all night u know? So they would make more money with other things that are not included.

This seems to be more and more an opportunity for Prince to showcase to industry heavies - both music and movie, I'm guessing. This really doesn't look like something he's doing for performance reasons.
