I'm going to more than I can afford...and haven't even started counting the afteshows yet. Total: 10 (including 2 VIP nights)

I'm going to 17 shows at the moment, but I'll probably cut that down a bit when friends take up the offer of tickets.

I'm just going to 6 including VIP on one night, but I am travelling from Aberdeen. If I lived in London I'd go to all 21.

i have tickets for 20 shows so far, and i'm gonna get aftershow tix for all 21 (if they are having aftershows after them all), and i'll figure out how many i can go to at the time. so far it looks like i might need to skip 3 of the 21 shows depending on my schedule, but i have the tickets and will get the aftershow tix just in case. i don't think it'll b hard 2 get a ticket 4 the nite i'm missing, but it's the only nite of the whole tour that i should be at work, but things might happen closer the time. i'll also be going to any/all secret/surprise additional shows in between the main dates. i'm not so fussed about 21 normal shows, but i don't want 2 miss any aftershows or small gigs. if there is an aftershow on the one nite thats tough for me 2 make, i can still get 2 london in time so as not 2 miss an aftershow, and maybe even catch the end of the main gig so i get 2 hear purple rain 21 times, like i've never heard it enuff times b4

i would have thought all the london orgers would have went every nite, the only thing that makes it difficult for me is living 500 miles away and having to travel up and down 2 london almost every week 4 work commitments.

hello! i'm from granada, spain and i have just booked some of the last tickets for august 25th in london, but the funny thing is that there is a rumour going round here in spain saying that Prince would make a unique venue out of london on that very date, in benidorm.

there's a lot of mess with all this, with the spanish promoters saying that they have already paid half of the fee, and that they have the Prince's legal representant confirmation as well!! eek
on the other side, that's not what 3121.com and ticketmaster say!!!

if you have any certain news, please post it!!
thanx!

Reading this thread makes me feel insignificant, I originally had just tickets for one performance and I was happy with that considering I live 300 miles away. I have just bought tickets for a second night and I'm over the moon. You can get too much of a good thing but saying that I hope the multigoers (just made that word up!!) enjoy every minute

not 4 my bank account no

but the last tour was 3 years ago, and the last uk tour was 5 years ago, so it's not like this is a regular occurrance. before his last uk tour there was another 4 year break, so if he does tour the uk again the chances are it's not going to be 4 a long time. this is my holiday, i haven't been on holiday since 2004. most people spend thier holidays doing what they like 2 do, ski-ing, watersports, sunbathing, etc, i'm just doing what i like 2 do, only i'm more restricted as 2 when i can do it, so when the opportunity occurs, i take it. essentially instead of taking 1 long break, i'll have several long weekend breaks spread out over 2 months. seeing prints is only part of it, i'll meet lots of people from all over the world, some of whom i haven't met in years, and other people i haven't met in person yet

so is it healthy? well, i get plenty of breaks from work, and get 2 do my favorite activity and meets lots of friends, new and old, so yes, it is

is it an obsession? to some degree, yes, but you won't catch me dressing as prints or sticking up posters or anything. it's all about the art 2 me. i appreciate all sorts of music, so i don't just listen 2 prints. i'm just off 2 c george michael again 2day 4 xample

i just think it's really strange that this is 1 of the longest running and most popular prints sites on the internet, with thousands of members, plenty of them in or around the london area, and no-one else is making the effort 2 c all the shows, not even those who reckon themselves die hard fans. it would frustrate me greatly if i knew my favorite artist was playing my home town and i wasn't in attendance

I know what you mean Unique, I'd DEFINITELY be at all 21 if I stayed anywhere near London. I haven't seen Prince live since 2002 and I don't think I could sleep at night if I was in London and not at concert or aftershow when I could be. I live in Aberdeen which is about 500 miles from London and I have an 18 month old child but I'm still going to 6 concerts. They will be the first nights I've spent away from my wee boy - would only do it to see Prince!

Not everyone has the money to see their favourite artist 21 times (Over £650) or could get tickets to all 21, it was hard enough getting tickets for 3!. Plus there is extra expense for aftershows, travel and accomodation. Its also a hits show and I am bored of hearing Kiss etc etc so after a few shows I wouldn't want to go again, keeping them spaced out makes it a bit more special.

I was also at that concert, really disappointing night I thought the venue was wrong (being a utd fan I would) and the sound/atmosphere were not good.
He has played in Manchester since then, it was the G-Mex around 96, Mayte and all. drool3

Unique, thats amazing!!! You are sooo lucky & I am soooo jealous!!!!

I'm only going to 4 but I was lucky enough to go to the Koko in Camden, be right at the front & dance on stage with him, so that has totally satisfied me Prince wise this year!!!

I purchased 4x2 tix as I'm not brave enough to go alone so will be dragging along various reluctant people, so I guess I could have gone to 8 nights alone for the price I paid! Plus I have two small kids & a non-Prince fan husband, so its difficult! I'm just waiting for the Indigo tix to go on sale now.....!!!

Don't start the whole "You are only a true die hard fan if you do what I would do" thing!

Someone could be a more die hard fan than you or I and only go to one show.

Money, time and priorities play a big part in peoples plans.

Personally, I have started restricting the amount of shows I go to, because I find I enjoy them more.I've got tickets for 17, but I'll probably end up going about 10 times. I may even cut it down to 7. One a week!

Yeah, I should have married a Prince fan!!! Maybe if there is a next time (concert wise), I would have made more Prince fans & will travel alone & meet up with people like you!!! Could purchase x2 tix & split the cost, at least I'll be sitting with somebody who shares the passion!!!!

I know what you mean. I wish Mrs Squirrel was a Prince fan (She likes the Hits album in moderation). When I say I got more tickets, she looks at me like I'm insane.

I told her she's not coming to my VIP tickets and hotel stay!

i'm not trying to start that argument, you are the first person to raise it. i said i was surprised that no-one else on this site, including people who reckon themselves to be die hard fans, aren't making the effort to c all the shows. i didn't mention anywhere anything that suggests any form of measurement as to what constitutes being a die hard fan

but whilst you mention it, you are right that money, time and priorities play a large part in it, but if you choose to priorotise other things in youre life over seeing your favorite artist, it does say a lot about exactly how die hard someone actually is. i've seen many real die hard fans sell collections, and do all sorts of things for various reasons over the years. some get fed up of prince, some settle down and get married or have kids instead, so thier priorities change and they stop becoming a die hard fan(atic). look at those tv shows that feature weird people with weird collections of stuff. notice that they are almost all male 40+ year old virgins

i'm far from rich, but i've made great efforts and sacrifices and a lot of long term planning has went in to attend the shows, arranging finances, time of work, travel, accomodation, tickets, etc. i'm travelling a fair distance too. so the way i see it is if i can do it, why isn't anyone else here? but then i look on HQ and it seems there are more people there going to a larger amount of shows, so perhaps it's simply a case of the die hard fans leaving the org behind to post more regularly on HQ instead. there's got to be more to it than time and money, as it's so easy to get a loan, overdraft or credit card these days, so it's fairly easy financially, time off work can be harder to arrange, but i was mainly surprised that the locals aren't attending more shows as they don't have the same problems of time off work, travel and accomodation as people who lives 100s of miles away who can't travel home after shows. maybe londonners are spoiled by having so many great artists and so many great shows so often

Well i guess i'm the lucky one, i met my fiancee in Manchester at the show at the Apollo in 02. I saw her in a hotel lobby masturbating with a magazine...he he not really.
