Where to stay in Minneapolis

HI, heading out there for 7/7/07 and would like to know where there is a decent place to stay. Would like the place to be around Target/Macy's. I was there for a celebration way back but I want a nice hotel to stay in. Has anybody heard good things about Sofitel? Thanks!

If you want a nice hotel try the Marquette. Its a half a block from Macys, easy access by skyway and is about 3 blocks from the Target Center. I have stayed there a few times its very nice.

I've stayed at the Marquette, thought it was lovely.
The best hotel in town has got to be the Graves 601, which is directly across from the Target Center. It's quite pricey, but well worth it if you're spending a lot of time there. If you're just in and out for the night, maybe not so worth it...
This time I'm gonna be at the Hyatt, which is close to Macys and the Target Center, and is also quite nice.

I'll throw in another good word for the Marquette. The executive level rooms are especially nice and give you access to the rooftop lounge with free drinks, food, and a great view of downtown.

Another one you might want to check out is Bank, it just opened last month and judging from the lobby, it's very nice. The architecture inside is just amazing, they did a great job restoring it.

If you're on a pretty tight budget, the Marriott is a good alternative.

I also agree with the others -- the Marquette is a great hotel.

Hotel Sofitel is in Bloomington, not anywhere near downtown -- you'd have to take a cab or rent a car to get back and forth.
