Thats what I thought too, especailly after seeing no one is getting them today. Why do you think hes waiting past regular sales? And does anyone think they will be more than the $131.21?

^ Go to 3121.com, then click the link on the right for the perfume.
Then skip the intro, and go to bottom of page, and put your mouse over the one that says July 7 tickets (don't click it!). You get a little thing that pops up and says 1600 tickets available here on June 6!

Hope that helps

Just noticed on TM that they are starting auctions tomorrow for some floor seats!!

Don't really know how those work. If that will be all floor seats or just some of the floor seats? Or do you think there will be more info later?

Hold your arrow over the rows available for bids, it says "seats 1-18"

This is so confusing. Why are tickets available from so many outlets? So will tickets be available on 3121perfume.com on 6/6/07 too?

Also, TM should be shot for that auction mess.

Good luck everybody!

It doesn't. Just an assumption of possiblities, since no one yet today has stated they have gotten floor seats.

Maybe this is what we were waiting for? Has anyone pais $131.21 for a seat yet? I was on at 10am and the most expensive seat I found was $97.00 and it seems nobody I know has a seat closer then about the 23rd row! Maybe prince does want us up close afterall? Maybe we will get a code b4 wednesday!

Well, the thread title is a bit misleading. Besides, TM never sells floor tickets, or very few, during presales and usually not in the first week or two of opening sales for a show. They usually sell nosebleed tickets first and work their way down in the following days and weeks. I mentioned this in threads about the O2 tickets and it seems they did the same thing in the UK too.

So is the auction the best way to go about getting floor seats? Or do yall think they will be available tomorrow? Since the auction is for seats 1-18 do you think there is more in a row, or maybe more rows than 19? Never really paid attention to those things at a concert before, and never been on the floor, but would really like to this time, if possible.

FYI folks, it's all a matter of taste. But when I've been to Target Center events I've HATED the main floor unless I was in row 10 or closer. It's totally flat, long, and unless you are really tall it can be tough to see things. If I can't get in those first 10 rows, I MUCH prefer being in the first rows of level 1, preferably on the sides...

Hey.. do you think it's big enough to accommodate the symbol stage?

I wonder if it's end stage, or in-the-round like Musicology..
Usually, for Prince, Ticketbastard gives a specific floorplan layout..

They showed us the floor plan at Macy's today and it is an end-stage. So the back rows of the floor will be brutal, imho.

I don't know that they will even be selling the seats behind the stage, as when they showed us the diagram today, those sections were blacked out. Of course, if it sells out, they may release them later, noting them as completely obstructed view. lol

ALL the floor seats and best side sections are being auctioned off on the Ticketmaster website. Starting bid on them all is $150. Prince is one of the first to use Ticketmasters new plan to beat scalping and to make as much money for the artist This is what I heard on the radio today.... and here is a link although I don't see the sidesections or strangely rows 8-10

The radio needs to check their facts. Prince is not one of the first artists to use this plan. It's not new either. It's been going on for more than a year. Most of the big ticket concerts have used this crappy system. TM claims that it levels the playing field, but for whom? At the end of the day, the fans lose out, because the prices are still higher than face value. If this is the case, why even have a face value on a ticket? It's getting to the point where regular people can't even afford to go to a show and have a decent seat.

Here is an article from last year about it.

Ticketmaster uses auctions to fight online scalpers
Updated 5/22/2006 1:48 AM ET
By Jefferson Graham, USA TODAY

LOS ANGELES Don't be surprised if the best seats for a summer concert are available only via an auction.

Ticketmaster, which dominates the ticket business, is fighting back against online ticket resellers by letting customers bid up the prices for the best seats and returning profits to promoters and artists.

It will auction the best seats to many top summer tours, including Madonna, Shakira, Kelly Clarkson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bon Jovi and former Pink Floyd composer Roger Waters.

The Internet has made it easy for speculators to buy tickets and resell them at huge prices at online sites such as Craigslist and eBay.

Ticket sites StubHub and RazorGator do nothing but resell tickets, charging both sellers and buyers service fees.

Ticketmaster auction money is split between the promoter and artist, with Ticketmaster taking a service fee.

Waters will perform Pink Floyd's complete Dark Side of the Moon with a backup band at New York's Madison Square Garden on Sept. 12. Regular top ticket prices are $175; the first four rows' minimum Ticketmaster auction bid is $500. Seats are being resold on StubHub and RazorGator with asking prices soaring to $4,600 and $7,000, respectively.

With the Ticketmaster auctions, "the whole point was to try and recapture revenue that's being generated on the back of the artist and promoter," says Arthur Fogel, president of tour promoter TNA International, which is behind Madonna's summer tour.

The best seats for Madonna's Confessions tour have a face value of $350. The Ticketmaster auction averaged $400 to $500 a ticket, Fogel says.

David Goldberg, Ticketmaster executive vice president, calls the online bidding for show seats "a market solution to an industry problem. It makes it a much more level playing field."

The problem is that the hottest shows sell out in minutes on the Internet. And, Fogel says, resale websites have made it easy for the ordinary computer user to become a ticket broker.

Auctions "move the concert market even further from its roots: music for the people," says Gary Bongiovanni, editor of trade magazine Pollstar. "Concerts are supply and demand, and the person with the most coconuts gets the prize." clapping nod

i dont see where it says "1600" it just says available here on june 6th. I think it is crap that you have to bid for an up front seat. how is that any different than scalping? It isn't. This just caters to those with lots of cash to throw around. i was gonna go, as a b-day present from my hubby...but I am not sure now. I don't see any point in going all the way to MN for nosebleeds or obstructed views.
