It looks like these package tickets will only be available at Macy's. If not, I'd purchase one online. Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

The local Mpls news site www.kare11.com has a news feature about this concert. In the write up they say:
"The July 7 concert, 07/07/07, is tied to the release of a new Prince perfume called 3121. Prince fans recognize the number as the title of a recent Prince CD, and as the address of the singer's Hollywood Hills mansion." The part about it being the address of his Hollywood Hills mansion is news to me. Is this correct? Does he really own a home with this address? If so, why is he planning to stay at the Rosevelt for weeks this summer? Why not stay at home and play the gigs at the hotel?

Yes, it's true that Prince had a home in Beverely Hills that he rented from Carlos Boozer(NBA player), which he also changed the address to 3121.

Why can't they just sale the darn Macy's package the day before the show? This sucks for the people that lives out of town. Oh well, I'll just have to cross my finger for an aftershow at Paisley or somewhere in Minneapolis.

Start checking Craigslist and eBay on Friday, you'll probably pay quite a premium but you should be able to find them.

But a friend heard on MPLS radio this morning (KS95) That Prince is also doing an "intimate show" at Macy's auditorium in their store in downtown MPLS. (Is that the 8th floor?) The station said tix would be $200. My friend couldn't recall the exact number available but thought it was 1200-1400. She thought it was also on 7-7, but it may be 7-6? So anyways, if someone finds a source for this, hook us up. [Edited 5/29/07 5:59am]

wooooo! you gonna be at the show, too? thankfully the tix are actually quite affordable for me this time around. i'm surprised...i'm seriously thinking about getting one of them $131 tickets (that is, if the hometown and online crowd don't beat me to 'em first).

There's also a Ramada (which is going to be cheap, but definitely shady), I think there is a Marriott Courtyard in addition to the regular one. If you're looking to go high class, you could stroll into the Graves 601 hotel that's across the street from the Target Center, or Marquette or Millenium Hotel, there's a Hilton, a Hyatt, really whatever your heart desires. A prince never lacks legitimate reasons to break his promise.

I've stayed in as many downtown hotels as probably anybody here. Good value: The Millenium, look no further. It's on the edge of downtown so you might find yourself walking a while to some places, but for the price it's very nice and you're right next to Eat Street which is very underrated. This is where I stay when I'm on a budget. You can almost always find rooms for less than $100 a night. Getting nicer: Check out the Marquette. The rooms are nice, the location is nice, and the prices are right around the $150 range, usually less. If you can splurge, get an executive level room. That gives you access to the lounge where free food and drinks are served, this lounge also has a great view of the city. Also check out the new hotel, Bank: http://www.starwoodhotels...rtyID=1723. I haven't stayed there yet, but I've been in the lobby and it's very nice. They should still be running grand opening rates so you should be able to get a room for around $200. If you're into Art Deco, this is an amazing place. Top-End: The one place in town I haven't stayed in is Graves 601. Everyone says it's super-cool though. I hope to stay there eventually. I have, however, stayed in the new Chambers Hotel. This place is super-luxurious and is right near the Target Center. Everything about this place is super high-end. The restaurant is quickly becoming regarded as one of the city's best, the bar makes excellent drinks, and it has fine art all over the place. If you're fine with about $300 per night, definitely stay here. If you don't like to walk and the Millenium is too far away for you, then go with the Marriott City Center. It's not as nice as the Millenium, but it's closer to Target Center.

I just booked a room at the Marriott Downtown Hotel. Their rates are $129 per night and if you pay with a Visa card you get a coupon of $100 towards your next stay. They told me its about 2 blocks from the Target Center.
