How the tables have turned. Not really though - the difference is making those decisions yourself or having someone else make them for you. Also, he's keeping the $$ made from his work, his talent and his image. Much different than his days with WB, when they got the lion's share and he got a much smaller piece. I'm firmly planted in denial

The Blossom Room inside the Roosevelt only holds 250 people x 7 nights is 1,750 lucky people. And if the sponsors kicked in that much $, probably an inside gig.

I'm totally down with and support his latest business ventures. He's running it for real, bringing the events in such clever ways and making serious cash. He touched my soul at 3121 in Vegas...afterwards, the cost of getting there/tickets seemed so insignificant we're like two petals from the same flower, baby...

I heard a rumor that Prince has already done a Verizon commerical.... "This is just another one of God's gifts..."

Room wise, the Roosevelt is sold out pretty much all summer per the website. What up?

How the tables have turned. except we used to get new music and he used to get played on the radio. I thought the whole battle was so we could get more new music. He's making more money than ever, we are getting less new music than ever. Would it be too hard to at least release some new tracks or even vault tracks on iTunes?

Most artists don't even release a CD unless 2-3-4 years go by. When you say less music what do you mean?

There's a thread started that gives some ideas for nearby hotels. You can also try expedia, etc... good luck!

But it says that there will 250 seated VIPs and an undertermined number of standing room only, so there will be more than 250 people at these shows.

How the tables have turned. ----- If the record label were managing P's carreer he would not be doing anything at all. I guess you have not checked out how a lot acts these days don't tour at all and when they do the tours are short with loads of lip-synching. P is doing a good job managing his carreer. He is getting paid and still putting out music. A lot of artist could learn from him.

I gotta say, £31.21 for the London shows is a top draw bargain! I've said it before and I'll say it again, $65 to see Prince in an arena with 23,000 other people in London, or $75 for a seat during the Musicology tour, again in arenas, is NOT the same as paying $125 to see him in a nightclub in Vegas that holds 1000 people max. Not to mention ONLY $50 for the aftershow in a room with 40 people. I really wish people would stop comparing the two because it's not a fair comparison. You get what you pay for. And his arena AND club prices are much less than what the Police, Madonna, Barbara Streisand, Celine, and the Rolling Stones charge for the same old shit they've been singing for the last 20-30 years in an arena. BTW, extortionate is not a word.

Rich people have problems too. And at least he EARNS his money, unlike the many celebutantes that are paid millions simply because they were born to the right parents that spoiled them rotten and didn't give them any good values, i.e. Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie etc. Amen to that. Prince has replaced JB as the hardest working man in show business. He is real old school, he makes his money the old fashioned way by earning it. He deserves to be rich, because he has certainly enriched my life with decades of great music and amazing concerts. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

They need to start living their lives and stop being mad at Prince for not living his they way they want him too. Stop living vicariously through Prince and seek your own happiness. He is using his God-given talents in the way that he was annointed to do and is being paid well for it. There is no crime in that. His last album was released just over a year ago. He has consistently released new music post-Warner. How many other artists of his caliber, who have been in the game this long even come close to his output and performance schedule. The man works HARD! He deserves every penny that he earns. And he doesn't just cash in on old hits. Did any of you haters even go to 3121? There was an excellent mix of old and NEW material. Some songs that haven't even been released yet were even performed. His concerts have always been a mix of old and new - at least the 15 that I have been too were. Also, Prince's tickets have routinely been less than other big name acts. So some folks need to check their facts. Wonder505 I asked you why bother, then went on a tirade. Sorry. I got a little heated. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...
