Does anyone have a clue if there will be an age limit for these shows?

I know an 11-year-old who needs to reunite with the man...

Not fair that he discounted all of his London shows and is sticking it to us Americans mad. What the hell makes him think we can afford more? Helloooo Prince- Los Angeles IS one of the most expensive cities in the USA to live in, and most of your fans are regular working folks who could use the discount! whistling

Don't cater to the .0005% of the population out here that has money!!!

Excuse me but $64 for a seat in an arena in London with 23,000 other people is NOT the same thing as a club that holds a 1000 people in Las Vegas OR a club in LA that holds 500. Therefore, it stands to reason, that prices SHOULD be different. It's NOT apples to apples. That's just common sense. It's expensive, sure, but no other major artist would play a room that small and only charge $125. And it's Prince so he's WORTH more than that.
[Edited 5/22/07 5:46am]

Exactly! People need to remember he has a band and staff to pay also. It's not just Prince sitting on a chair in a dark room by himself.

You go on the Hotel website and they play funky jazz music. I wonder if that was written by our Princie. It sounds a bit like him.

To be honest, I REALLY don't expect these astronomical prices that a lot of people are speculating about. Simply because the two events this year that were/are really high prices, the Orpheum and Hamptons gigs, were not under Prince's control and geared to a specific audience of mostly non-Prince fans. However, for his own stuff in really intimate settings he charged $312.01 max. So I'm hoping that it won't exceed this. confused

As we all know, Prince gets his energy from the crowd and he ain't gon' get that with a bunch of celebs staring back at him. So it only makes sense to have somewhat affordable tix available. Besides, if it was REALLY only about the money, why even have the "250 seated guests and an undetermined number of standing-room-only patrons?????" He could easily make the whole place VIP and seated. But he wants high energy purple peeps all up in his grill. headbang So let’s see what happens when they announce ticket prices and THEN if the prices are REALLY outta control, I will lead the bitch fest witcha! LOL! lol

Just saw this in another article online. A little more info...11 hours of Prince music I can take!!:

The L.A. Times' Buzz Blog is reporting that Prince will play a seven-weekend residency at Los Angeles' Roosevelt Hotel, beginning some time next month. And if you were expecting Prince to casually plug his glyph-shaped guitar into a socket just fiddle around for a bit, well, you'd be wrong:

What the plans call for: On seven Friday nights starting June 15, the Roosevelt will close off its lobby at 9 p.m. Then, at 11:30 in the Blossom Room in front of 250 seated guests and an undetermined number of standing-room-only patrons, Prince (joined each week by special guests) will give a two-hour performance. At 2 a.m., Prince's private chef will take over the kitchen of the Roosevelt's Dakota restaurant, which will morph into an after-hours dinner club. As part of a jazz ensemble, Prince will entertain diners until 4 a.m.
We're not too good at math, but we think that comes to about 11 hours of music a night, plus a complimentary side dish of vegan prawns. Let's hope things go smoothly: If one of the Roosevelt's VIP guests (Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie, Karl Malden, etc.) shows up and display too much skin, they might wind up sending the guy into a religious self-seclusion for the next five years.

How are they getting 11 hours???? whofarted Yeah, they ARE really bad at math cuz he prolly won't hit the stage til midnight, IF then, and play til 2 then go to the afterhours spot and play for another 2 hours. That's 4 hours at the most depending on his mood. And WTF, Karl Malden??? Why on Earth would they list him as one of the VIPs like he's a contemporary??? Karl's a great actor and all but he's 95!!! And the thought of him displaying too much skin. . . we REALLY don't need that. disbelief feeling ill

Prince, come to Central Europe for once.

I can't imagine him playing for 11 hours...my guess is 2 hours first set and 2 hours second set or for the dinner thing or whatever.

I just wanna know how much he's charging for these tickets. Rooms at the Roosevelt are $599 a night! Whack!

I booked a room there in the hopes the ticket prices won't be astonishing and the rooms are really high, but they were $309. Yikes, $599 is really high.

PRINCE is going to have a regular gig. Word in L.A. is that the Hollywood Roosevelt has signed the singer to play in its Blossom Room for seven consecutive Fridays starting June 15. A spy said, "He's getting paid $3 million for the gigs - $1.5 million is coming from a clothing company, Verizon is chalking up $750,000, and the rest is covered by the hotel. Prince will also get comped rooms, food and beverages." A rep for Prince didn't return calls.

What weekend did you book for? I looked into rooms yesterday and they didn't have anything available on the 6/15 and 6/22 weekends. They only had availability starting 6/29.

I tried booking online this morning for 6/29 and a std. room came up for $309, we went to book it about an hour later and by then the room was booked. I called and the reservationist person granted us the room for the same price in a king size room which would have been, I think she said $369 or so, plus tax. It is a lot of money, but my husband doesn't want to be walking around Hollywood area in the middle of the night. In either case, they do have rooms on 6/29 for less than $599 if you try to book now and they do have a 24 hour cancelation policy!! Hope that helps!

Hmm let's say they are going to have 250 seated and 150 standing per show. I'd say tickets will average 1231.00 per ticket. . . .I hope I'm wrong!

I'm sure you are. smile They are not going to charge the same price for seated VIP and standing room only. Just like in Vegas, you'll pay a premium to have a VIP table with bottle service, etc. So that's prolly at least $1000 giving Prince wiggle room to charge significantly less for general admission.

I am soooo bummed. I put off making room reservations at the hotel and now they are all booked for the 7 Fridays beginning June 15th. So as desperate as this is, if anyone is willing to host me and/or my husband, I will be more than obliged to split the costs of a room. Feel free to orgnote me.....
