You can get uppr tier tickets for nearly every show.
It seems as if the uppr tier wasn't opened last friday.Let's hope he won't play in half empty venues.

That's very annoying. Were they trying to create a false mass demand?

When I tried last Friday at 9am, it seemed most dates were totally sold out so I ended up with a nose bleed seat at the side on a Tuesday night show. But since all my previous options were turning up no seats, I jumped on these and grabbed them while I could.

Now it seems that if I waited a few days (!!) I would get seats for a more convenient night and maybe even better seats. It's great that the ticket prices are very reasonable, but I hate this messing around with supply and demand and painting an incorrect picture. All those News article that claimed the concerts sold out in 10 minutes are now completely untrue, although they were anyway considering tickets started being sold on the Thursday for o2 people.

I don't understand why you can't get lower tier tickets. Not one single seat is shown at ticketmaster.co.uk

That can't be. Can it be, that ticketmaster is not allowed to sell lower tier?

Although this makes me think that these are the ppl who bought up all the tickets before we normal people had a chance to get the good seats.....

Tickets are still available for each show. Just to give ya'll a clue, Ticketmaster releases a set number of tickets each week until the day of the event. When the allotted number of tickets sells each week you'll see the "Tickets are not Currently Available" message. That message goes away when more tickets are made available, usually on Monday as it did today. It's not sold out until the TM link actually says "Sold Out" and that's never been on any of the dates.

false mass demand was attempted in Vegas and it worked but Prince should get someone other than AEG because it just makes him look bad

claiming shows were sold out in Vegas when they were not, raising prices at the last minute, etc.

Prince is not printing out tickets or working the phones over at Ticketmaster. Any promoter trying to move 200,000+ tickets has to device some kind of strategy. The sale of tickets for these shows doesn't even seem that different from what goes on with other major concerts, except of course that the prices are actually more affordable. I don't see why anyone would dog P for anything. He's going to work a lot harder to reach more fans (changing song lists too), when he could've done less shows for higher prices. I'm not trying to sanctify the man, but it's pretty obvious to me he's offering his fans a pretty good deal.

My experience is similar to you guys. I tried to get tickets on Saturday lunchtime but they appeared to be all sold. I then tried again later that afternoon and bagged a pair for Friday 17th August. They are for the upper tier but at least we get to meet again after a few years absence.
Anybody else going on the 17th?

Thank you so much Aprilsnow. I had given up hope after the first weekend tix went on sale but I managed to get myself some for a Friday night show on the Monday after reading your post. So excited!!!
