So I really hope this is true but looking at everyone else's reponse to GA tickets I'm beginning to think otherwise!! (My booking says GA7 A-type seat 37).
I am waiting for a response from ticketmaster telling me the difference between the 'brown' and 'yellow' gold seating areas and which one I will be in. I will let everyone know as soon as I get an answer. I have just read this thread from start to finish and i am scared to find out the answer to the puzzle. I have tickets on the 1st in block 116 and then GA7 on the 3rd (August). It will absoloutley break my heart if the 'gold circle' tickets are not on the floor. I just wanted to see him twice, bought a o2 sim card for my phone in a panic on the thursday so that i could get 2 tickets and then decided to try my luck on getting seats in a different part of the area on the friday... got kicked out of the system so many times and everything was selling up so fast i decided the only way to go was with the vip tickets which are, as you all are very aware very expensive. A very kind loved one lent me the cash to buy the 'gold cirlce' tickets if they turn out to be hardly any better than the £31.21 ticks im gonna feel a bit crap The one night alone tour whet my whistle for the gold circle tickets, if you had your npgmc membership you got right down the front and saw the sound check (that was a free for all though, everyone running like maniacs to get the front row!). That was an amazing experience and less costly! Gosh, i hope its worth it. my all weather friend

Where this whole Golden Ticket situation feels like a gamble.. I'm hot and I don't care who knows it...I got a job to do.

Ok just received a reply from ticketmaster here is their response: -
"Please do not worry I can confirm that you have general admissions tickets. They are numbered so we can keep a track of ticketing. The seats in your area will be first come first serve. The seats aren't specified. I apologise for any confusion this may have caused you. I hope you enjoy the event." I can see everyone making a mad rush to get to the front!

A mad rush is not what we've paid £235/£264 for that's for sure! They must mean first come first serve from a when the ticket was bought perspective and receive a final seat allocation at some point (maybe on the day even) dependant on when we bought the ticket in the first place. When people pay as much as a plane ticket for a concert ticket it would really be wise to set expectations BEFORE the concert with an allocated seat/block else risk a riot of people going on about how much they've paid for their ticket moments before the show is supposed to start!

I agree so I wrote back to ticketmaster (I specifically wrote about the VIP Cruise ticketholders by the way) this is what they said:
The seating for VIP is the first 10 rows on the floor (yellow area) and the first 10 rows in the tiers (brown area). These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis on the night, so you could be sitting in either area. So it seems it doesn't make much different if you paid £235 or £264 we could be anywhere, it makes you feel like skipping the cruise and going straight for the seat!

I'm on the boat too, but it seems like we're all gonna be trying to get off the boat and rush for seats!! Seriously though, this is still strange, as people who have bought GC tickets without the VIP deal, but as a hotel package deal are getting allocated actual Row A Lower Tier seats already - so obviously they'd need to ensure we don't scramble for seats that have actually already been allocated! the plot thickens...

that really is not fair is it. do we know what time the cruise kicks off and what time it arrives?[ i'll call them later]. Seriously, if there are X number of VIP seats which are then sold to capacity WHAT is so hard about allocating a seat number?.
