We're definitely getting stitched up by Ticketmaster here... An hour ago there were no tickets available for any dates. Now there are tickets all over the place - except on the floor of course. I just managed to get first tier tickets for the last night. The site also (at 11.15am) offered me closer seats (although still in the second tier) for the first Sat night than the ones I managed to get at 9.30am. That makes me a bit angry. It seems like "best seats available" actually means "random seats somewhere".

The answer to that is easy...peopel open multiple browser windows, the browser only holds on to tix for 3 mins before releasing them to another customer...so peoples PC have either crashed or peopel have just got the dates they want and let go of the rest.

I for example bought mine and went on again to see if more were available...in doing that I had 2 tix for a max of 3 mins that you woudlnt ebale to see.

The other thing is that upper tier side seats ARE better than lower tier at the back due to angles

Yep... longer you leave it, the closer you get! Tried again and was offered block 419 row C. A lot better than the tix I bought for the same night at 9.30am - block 417 row J.

Damn it...the first year tix have be a reasonable price and i cant go to 2 shows...my wife has gotherself knocked up and will be heavily pregant and we need the money.

Ok, ok...it ws planned and Im over the moon and more than happy to go just the once.

(ok so the more than happy bit wasnt entirely true)...my only best bet is to play Prince so the baby can hear it in the womb and then, when he/she is old enough and into Prince, I'll let them know that they owe me one.....assuming that Prince is still alive then of course

Yep ur right.

Got good seats for the 1st gig on lower tier through the O2 site at 9.00.
The site was giving similar seats for the lat gig on 14th.

Went to ticketmaster just now and got better side seats lower tier which weren't avaiable before?!

Nope, I'm getting "no tickets" for Sat 11th. I'm bored of this now and have more important things to do than bashing away at the stupid Ticketmaster site. Will give it a shot tomorrow and hope some better tickets become available.

Not a good system. They should decide on a presale allocation, sell them in the right order, and call it quits when they're gone. Better tickets showing up in the presale after worse seats have been sold is unfair to everyone. I can just see that look of despair on EM's face (if she still pays any attention to these sort of things... although I don't suppose she does. It's been a looonnggg time).

Anyway, happy to be going at all. I missed ONA because of the zero publicity, and I'm not used to having nearly 10 years between gigs! I suspect it's going to be a whole lot better than the Jam of the Year Brixton gig, which was the last show I saw.

(And as if to drive the point home, my iTunes randomly just started playing "2 Nigs United 4 West Compton"! It hasn't played a P track of any kind on shuffle for a very long time. If I'm going to get excited about an upcoming gig, that track's going to do it smile It's true what they say - iTunes reads your mind!)

Ah yes, the Days of NPGMC priority tickets when members got to be next to tehe stage or near the front.....weeeeelllll, thats not entirely true though is it.

For the whole time the NPGMC was up and running we had teh promise of 3 world tours....1 never happened, one never left the USA and the one that did (ONA live) messed up my priority tickets by claiming I wasnt a member...whcih left me at the back of the venue as I had to scramble to get Ticketmaster tickets.

Add to that the fact Prince had the front rows turning round and chanting Join the Club towards the seats at the back...and you'll see why Im much happier this time around

I think we have been spoilt before. Even though i have tickets for two nights am disappointed at the location. BK 107 for Sat 10th and BK 405 for Friday 11th.

I am curious as to when the VIP tickets quoted on 3121 will go on sale and for how much. If it's not soon we will all have tickets. Is this a cunning plan to sell us all two tickets per night?

Hey Im just happy I got some...the stupid thing is that I bet Im closer getting tickets off my own back than I was relying on NPGMC for the ONA tour.

They lost my membership details when I tried to order so then I had to join the mad scramble for ticketmaster tickets which left me at the back of the Apollo.

Was having a greta evening until Prince got the front row NPGMC members to turn around and chant "join the club" at us in repsonse to his following sentences..

"If you want to join the party down here you've got to...."

"Im going on to party after here with my frinds because they....."

and my favourite..."if you cared about me you'd...."

what a twat I though....nice guitar work though

that, my friend, is one of the funniest posts i've read for a long time...

the whole priority thing (which I must admit has worked really well for me in the past - not been out of the front blocks for a tour since '90) is a bit odd with the O2 shows as surely the point is that surrounding him are his most ardent admirers, thus whipping up an atmosphere reflected around the arena.

by only opening it up to corporates and big spenders, those front seats may prove a little lifeless...

or am i just saying this as my tickets are lower tier...row Z confused

Don't get me started. I got precisely nothing for my NPGMC membership (joined because I missed out on the ONA gig altogether - didn't even know it was happening). Then... no gigs. Wanted to buy lots of the "vault" tracks but couldn't because I was a Mac user.

Eventually I got a PC (as well... you're prying my Mac from my cold dead hands etc), and bought a firewire card for it so that I could attach my CD-writer. Ready to go. Went to download lots of tracks the day the firewire card arrived, and they'd closed the site down!

Really got my money's worth out of that little venture!

We coudl be in for a snug streat actually.

I was thinking that the O2 was totally huge...but then I put it into something I could picture.

I go to fotball each weekend and our stadiumn hold 32,000.....even in teh furthest seat it is an excellent view.

Then I did a bit of digging...turns out the 02 arena only holds just over 15000 any way...not the 22,000 plus that was talked about

It wasnt so much that I missed out on the priority thing....it was the shit he gave after.

All the stuff with getting the front rows to turn around and tease the people at the back about how they should have joined the club if they wanted good seats...totally, totally unecessary and, dare I say, a little bullying with the pointing and shouting,,,,,especially as I had been a mener ince day 1.

Now Eileen Merton who ran Controversy Magazine...she knew how to sort things out. Even after Prince had closed down Controversy and the membership was no more....Eillen still kept her mailing list and got old members priority tickets.

Just spoke to ticketmaster about my crap seats and they told me that none of the floor seats were in the pre-sale and blocks of tickets were randomly selected to be included, they also said the pre sale wasn't a chance to get the best seats just a chance to get them first

But it makes a mockery of the "best seats available" option when it offers you a better seat an hour after you've just bought a really bad one.

A little more transparency on the part of Ticketmaster... is obviously too much to hope for.

Cynically, you could say it's a ploy to get rid of the crummy seats to people who are so keen to see him they'll take whatever they can get (in the fear that they could end up not seeing him at all). Because, the other way around, if the ardent fans all get good seats, leaving the promoters trying to sell nosebleed seats in a 15,000 seat venue to average punters (and at the same price as floor seats too), will it sell out? Possibly not.

I think there'll be a lot of fans trying to sell on their crummy pre-sale seats if they can get better ones tomorrow.

I think the reason different/better seats become available a little while later is that Ticketmaster holds seats for a few minutes while people decide on them.

We all logged on at 9am, instantly the best lower tier seats become temporarily reserved, some people maybe bought those ones, some didn't and released them aagin thinking there must be better blocks available, so someone else searching at that precise moment may get those good seats and so on. Do you see?

I agree it would have been nice to know that floor seats were never going to be available today but I kind of guessed that anyway cos of the whole VIP first 10 rows thing.
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Yes I do.. but it doesn't explain going from awful seats at the back of the top tier (9.30am), to no seats whatsoever for any of the nights (9.45am) to suddenly being able to get seats in the lower tier again, or at the front of the upper tier (around 11am!)

I think they just made new areas available as the demand kept coming. They obviously want to sell as many tickets as they can during the presale (within limits - it wouldn't be fair to sell out just on the presale... unless you're The Police). So initially they make some lower tier and upper tier seats available... then as the requests keep coming, they open up another lower tier and upper tier block. If they didn't do it that way, they'd sell out all the lower tiers to us lot, which would be bad for the general public, and they would risk not selling out - they'd be much more comfortable knowing that some of those upper tier seats have gone already in the presale.

With a fan club it's a lot easier to estimate how many seats you need to reserve, so these kind of tactics aren't as necessary.
