We are driving from SAC and staying at the Marriott in Oak (SF was sold out and my wife got a free Marriott room). So we are gonna check in around 1ish, then head to dinner in SF at 5pm. Walk to the Orpheum from dinner.....then cab it to the dance party.

Hello Ms. Xplnyrslf!

The Miyako is definitely NOT within walking distance with heels on. It's about 2 and a half miles as the crow flies and that would be flying right through the tenderloin! As a fellow girlie girl, I advise you to reserve a cab. Have fun! I'll be there too!

Hubby looked it up and said it was a mile and a quarter (prop. uphill, too). We can take a taxi, however.

The SF fun run is Sunday. There's an Irish beer and oyster tasting on Saturday in the vicinity of the piers.

Here's a dinner tip:

The last time Prince was here for the JW convention he ate 3 nights in a row at - Buca di Beppo (855 Howard St. San Francisco, CA 94103). My friend worked there at the time and confirmed this.

Parking tip for Madrone Lounge (500 Divisadero @ Fell). There's $10 parking at the 76 Station across the street. But don't tell everyone and their mother...

We're just trying to find a Dutch Indonesian place....hubby is craving the food. Plus the seafood is great at the piers. The French Laundry unfortunately needs reservations in advance, not to mention, I don't necessarily trust P's judgement on his choice, (except for his personal chef who's great). I love red meat.
