The GREAT London Apollo Org meet up

Well were all gonna be there now right. This is our big chance to all say hello to eachother and not find out days later that you were sitting next to someone to talk to on here.

I dont know Hammersmith that well. I think there is one to the left as you come out of the station, near the Apollo - thats handy then.

Last time I was in Hammersmith was for a traning course opposite the Palais in 1996. The training company was called, get this - PRINCE. I wonder if there still there.

As you come out of Hammersmith tube, the venue is on one side of the roundabout, and roughy on the other is the high street.

Theres a pub called "The Edward" on the corner, which is a dive. Fight Club. Ignore that one.

However, there is a Withaspoons pub just up the high street (about 30 yards on) which is huge, has cheap beer, and good food.

I'll be wearing my badge with "Hello, my name is Squirrel Meat, how may I help you?"

I'll have 5 pints in front of me...

Central London, probably oxford street area, most likely to go to there before Hammersmith
I could use the tube, I just find it expensive!

Where are the UK female fans? Everyone showing up is a male!!! Will the only female fans at the concerts arrive from state side and Italy?

What time is the meeting considering we are to pick up are passes at 5 p.m. and go right into the venue for the soundcheck?

There is also a bar 38 about 2 minutes away from the Apollo. There is a huge bus terminal just opposite buses 9, 10 and 27 from central London all stop there or thereabouts, but the easiest way is probably by tube as Hammersmith is on Piccadilly, district and Hammersmith and City lines.
I will b going on Saturday, what time r u supposed 2 arrive in Hammersmith?

I will be travelling up by car from Southampton on Friday 4th. I can only get half a day's leave so will probably leave by 2pm at the latest, getting into Hammersmith hopefully between 4 and 5pm. I don't think that's going to leave me a lot of time to meet up or go to a pub so I will have to see you all in the queue for the Soundcheck (that feels so good to type!).

Does anyone know how much it would be to park near there. On the street map I've got it looks like there is a car park on the big roundabout and another under a Novotel (not sure if this one is public parking or not).

My route from Southampton will be M3, M25, M4, A4 (Great Western Road), coming off just before the Hammersmth Flyover. Does that sound about right?
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

there is a shopping centre called Kings Mall, about 5 mins from the Apollo (it is a rubbish shopping cenre, so may have spaces) if you show a safeway reciept it might be free to park there, either way I do not think it would be that expensive. Just follow the road round the roundabout on to King Street and it will be signposted.

Myself and npgsmfc are going to be down in London for the Saturday gig, so you can count us in on any org meet-ups! It'll save us all fighting with each other over who gets into the soundcheck first as well. Nice idea!

This is a good idea for a thread but I was wondering if we should have three going:

Apollo orgers meeting point 3 October
Apollo orgers meeting point 4 October
Apollo orgers meeting point 5 October

Could list the favourite suggested venues (Weatherspoons and Bar 38 plus ??) and then agree time.

btw I have not started this because I did not want to offend goldiesparade or have 'rival' threads going.

What do you guys think?

Also, in the English tradition of 'fair play' I want to raise one issue. If we are all meeting up before the gig then you can guarantee that there will be others who go straight to the Apollo to ensure being at the front. Personally while it would be cool to be front row middle I am happy to settle for first 10 rows (closest I have ever been anyway)

Jon, I will be there on Thursday, the 3rd. However, I'm going by the Apollo soon after I check into my hotel. If there's a LINE (like we say in the U.S.) for the soundcheck, I'm staying at the venue. I advise to come by the Apollo first to see who's there.

If theres a progressive collection of single-filed humans (as we like to say in England wink) then so be it. Will still be in the soundcheck and near the front, so come along and have a few "bevies" before the games commence. Its more fun than progressively standinding single-filed.

I'll be getting to London around midday on thursday and saturday, and will get to Hammersmith from around 1pm so I will be up for meeting around then.

As someone said, I think a formalised thread should be started saying when where etc so people who havent read this all along havent got to work out whats happening.
But From early afternoon every day in tbe same pub (weatherspoons?) sounds logical.
I'll be there from 1 so I hope more people will come early!
I can't wait for this!

happy the tickets selling so well.
How many NPGMC tickets are there sold? anyone with an idea?
Love to be in those first 10 rows!

peace

burger beer

Shame the Apollo does not have a nice park right opposite the doors (and the weather was guaranteed) 'cause we could have an ORGERS picnic (or am I being terribly 'English'?)
