March 24th - The Report

Well to start off I was living (4 4 days) in luxury at the Wynn - very very nice.

Set the mood for the weekend that was about to embark...

I arrived by limo to the Rio and this place has and will always be one of the dumpier hotels in Vegas. Hate to say it cause I like the location a bit off the strip but compared to all the rest its just dumpy feeling.

We head to dinner and immediately I am shocked at why no one on the org has described it the way I saw it! Big windows and the room where he plays being more center than described here and wow how the instruments are on the floor and not a stage! This was going to be a beautiful night indeed

Dinner was good but not great. However a few highlights made it very enjoyable plus the vibe in 3121 is chill. It got very crowded very fast and the waiter (Carl) was ok but unwilling to give up the VIP to us all night. We persisted and I agree the system they have at 3121 for this is quite rude frankly.

We spent some serious green on their greens and it bought us nothing. It was funny as I went to the restroom twice I overheard many discussions about the aftershow with staff and everyone was getting denied. A shame really..

We departed for the club and it was awesome. Met tons of cool new people waiting for the show...Rebecca, Derek, AJ, Celeste, Russell and many I didnt get the names of and when that curtain parted it was on.

The thing is when ever I see him I always expect nothing but the best performance from him but he always outdoes himself.

The opening ballad is one bad-ass ballad! I loved it and it ended abruptly to 3121 which was cool and than he went into this string of just playin it hard. He definitely had a 'tude coming out tonight. Even his playfulness with the crowd was a bit forced...

Highlight was the crowd on the stage and the brotha with the hat having the guts to step up and sound good.

Missed the last two songs to get in line just to meet more cool peeps...

and than the aftershow started

The vibe was odd to begin with but I just passed it of on pure exhaustion from the concert as i slumped into the seat. I immediately noticed that the area we sat in for dinner was now closed and I believe I saw maybe Sinbad and some other girls (Pussycat Dolls?) The room filled up but it was nothing like the main room. You all were rockin that room! We watched through the doors as it got steamy fast - Larry arrived and people were dancing from floor to ceiling. All while P just marched up and down the front which was ever crushing in on him. Within 30-40 minutes others that were on the outside were now inside and suddenly the music stopped and that was it. Ugly lights everyones inspected Prince is gone.

Bummer it ended as it did - overall a top 5 concert experience ever.

Thanks P and the org

PEACE

Nice review, but with the aftershow ending abruptly for reasons unknown or unclear, maybe Prince and his staff should think about moving the aftershow for the last weekend (the 30th and 31st) inside the club instead.

By doing that it would avoid the overcrowding, pushing and less bitchfight to get into the Jazz Cuisine's tiny music room, and a way for people not to invade Prince's space. I think having that aftershow inside Club instead of the Jazz Cuisine for the last weekend would be an awesome and memorable way to end the 3121 Vegas shows.
