Based on today's events, how many of you will be reniewing your NPGMC membership next year?

... I've spent this morning and this afternoon tied to my PC, trying to obtain tickets. I know they're in limited supply and I do congratulate those of you who managed to get tickets - no sour grapes.

... BUT I wondered how many of you are happy with the arrangement and how many of you aren't, and how this will affect whether you subscribe to the NPGMC next year.

I for one will be telling them to get stuffed. The only reason I joined in the first place was to get better seats to see Prince in concert. I really don't think the membership money has been worth what we've received so far this year.

I'll join again if only for the music.

Its difficult to judge the performance of the NPGMC when this year doesn't finish until Febuary 2003.

Well I only joined yesterday as I was waiting for a tour to be announced so I got my money's worth! (Had he announced the tour six weeks/months ago I would have joined then).

I do have a ticket for 4 Oct so quite happy (see when I get my CDs) but wanted tix for 5 Oct as well.

I hope NPGMC/Prince learn from what has been happening and in future allocate MORE tix to members before handing rest over to venue (is that how it works?)
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

I will not be joining again.

I supported year 1 and 2, signing up on day 1, order loads of stuff, have been to every london show for the last 16 years, but now it feels a con.

I am now going to start ripping the music off the web and via bootlegs. Sorry Prince, I gave you so many chances. But for me, music will be "free" from now on.

Bold statements, but he has us over a barrel. We pay the price and get some stuff if we don't pay we won't get. All the bootlegs I have are shitty quality and for once it is nice to have a few perks albeit in a quite random way. I too have been to a few concerts over the last 12 years and longed to be at the front of a packed Wembley Arena, waiting for the announcement, calling ticket master and ending up way back. Thinking "How do they get those front row seats?". Now I have two, I am grateful, and I am sorry for those who weren’t lucky. Our membership gives us the chance to buy tickets that’s all it never guaranteed them, we are forewarned, and on Sunday morning we will be clambering to get the NEXT best seats, just like the old days. We are in a better situation now, 100 dollars worse off, but that is the price, we pay it and take what we get.

I will join, I like the idea of 4 new albums and the guitars but I'm really gutted about today. What happens when more and more join? Why not start playing bigger venues already? If he doesn't want that, then why not let the members sell the place out? He can't have it both ways.

Some people are like Slinkies...

They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Fiasco? I wouldn't call it that. It is exactly what they have been saying about the pre-sale, i.e. seats in the NPGMC section are limited, so it is a first come first serve situation. Yes it's a shame that not every member has been able to get pre-sale tickets, but I believe that it would devalue the seats if everyone could.

Yes, I knew he would make it right.

We had the same fiasco here, and he corrected it quickly. Have faith, not all situations run smoothly..

Yes, I may rethink too. I wish that the npgmc was better organised, and that people knew they'd get at least one ticket per member for any shows he was gonna do up front. But I have an inkling I know why they're so disorganised wink ... they put it right, and I'm happy now.

If I reniew or not I will decide when the 12 months are up, I will see if I got all CDs and how the tour went... will not make a judgement until then. however, one thing REALLY sucks: as a journalist I will cover the german tour for my newspaper. so I get free tickets for as many shows as I want. however, if I wanna see the soundcheck I still have to purchase tickets at the NPGMC presale, or they wont let me in. now THAT sucks...

no that does not suck: why would journalists be allowed in something special for fans?
