Standing in Line? I'll be at the March 17 show with my friend and we are wondering if the standing in line all day is to get the best spot in front of the stage? We were planning on just coming around 9pm or when doors open and going in.
Can someone who's "been there, done that" let me know if we just go when doors open will we be in back and if so are those spots really bad? I'm thinking it's all good, unless you really want to be belly-up-to-the-stage. Thanks in advance! We can't wait to see/hear him!

Opening night we stood in line for about 3 hours.
Got a great standing spot On Feb 18, I walked up to the box office around 10pm, got in a very very short line at entered the club. This allt took about 15 minutes. Got a great standing spot. Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize u simply imagined this So u lean over and give her a kiss Here on earth, here on earth, with u it's not so bad Here on earth, here on earth eye don't feel so sad Stay right here

It all depends on how many real fans attend the shows. The line wait is no joy because of the smoke filled casino. I bet the last weekend it will be long and people will be in line early.

We went Fe. 10 and entered the club about 9:00 - 9:30pm. The line was short and there was plenty of room close to the stage. However, with March being his last month, people may be more intent on getting to the club early. As I recall, another thread mentioned people lining up in the afternoon. If you're staying at the Rio, just keep an eye out on the line.

When I was there the line was already long at 2:30 in the afternoon and from what I had read the line had started around noon. No kidding.
BTW skip the line and enjoy your day as there isn't a bad spot in the club. It's not worth 12 hours of waiting just for a front spot.

Thanks everyone for the comments! We are really excited for this show. I think we'll be skipping the line during the day and enjoying the show from wherever we end up in there.

Let's see...I've been there 3 times and they've all been different experiences. The first time for New Years and was in line at about 6:30. There were a couple people there but I got a great spot leaning on the stage! The bad part is that since Prince doesn't get there till Midnight, that's a lot of hours of waiting even if ur sitting on the floor. It's really tiring. I was beat by the end of the night and the fact that I was so tired put a tiny damper on my fun.
The second time in January I got to the line at about 8. It was a bit longer but I still got a great spot. The problem is that I am short and that it only takes to have a few people in front of me and I couldn't see very much. Grrr! The third time in February I decided to try to get to the front of the line again since I enjoyed that much more. I got there at 6 and I still didn't get to the front of the line but I was close. If you really want to be in the front, plan on spending your day at the Rio, there's plenty to keep u occupied and periodically check the line. That's what I would do if I went again. Do U ever wonder why?
