Not sure why tickets arent on sale yet but Rio management confirmed Prince will play in March at 3121. keep checking they can appear anytime.

They are still telling me that he isnt leaving and is still negotiating a new contract. I go to the Rio almost every other day and talk to people at 3121.

The Rio has invested so much money into Prince that I cant see them letting him leave. Buses, billboards, magazines, the side of the Rio and the inside of the Rio are catered to Prince. He wont leave. The club is now starting to take off and the demand has never been higher.

but it still is about whether Prince WANTS to stay, the Rio can't be another version of Warner Brothers and try to make him stay just because the demand for him is high...thats why im gonna try to go in MARCH as soon as I can seeing as how the shows are getting shorter and seems he may be waning a bit in his interest for the place

This information was already given a little while ago. The Rio is negotiating a 6 months to one year contract with Prince and is confirming that he'll be playing in March. In the meantime, the media is reporting that he'll finish up his contract at the end of March and will be going on tour. I say, let's wait and see what his own website says.

I think P. will be at 3121 for quite a while, personally. You have to remember that he pretty much staged this whole thing with the release of 3121. I realize that it refers to his home address, or whatever, where he did shows for celeb friends (if that's accurate) but I think this was a well thought out move. And why would he choose to tour now AFTER the Superbowl hype has subsided and he doesn't have a new release out? Touring for 3121 would be a little behind the curve I think,unless there's something in the works that I'm unaware of. He seemed way too jazzed about playing on 2/23 too. He looked anything but bored or at the end of the road with the venue. It's pretty obvious he's enjoying the intimacy of the club (really no larger than a House of Blues), not to mention the 50 people after shows. He's just workin' ya by releasing tickets late. And I know how frustrating that was when I wanted to go, with plane fares on the rise, hotels selling out, etc. We'll see... but don't miss it if you can help it!

Isn't the NAACP awards March 2nd? Maybe Prince will be attending instead of playing Vegas that weekend.

Yep. Saw the TV promo last night. Prince will be at the NAACP image awards this weekend. That's why he's not playing at 3121 this weekend.

Actually the awards are live (March 2nd on Fox) for the first time this year. Previous years were recorded earlier, so what you were saying is understandable.

Anyway, he can still let us know if he will be at the Rio the rest of the month. People still need to make plans and stuff. He's being ridiculous.
