February are the last dates

Someone who I buy material from says his wife works with someone whose husband is the stage tech for 3121 and said that the Rio is ending the gig this month because Prince is too high maintenance. I don't know if this is true or not but it does sound reasonable.

Just contacted the RIO and they said he is contracted through March. We will see. They said they are still waiting on March dates from him. HMMMMM

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

LOL. you're funny smile

Now, I wouldn't doubt one minute Prince is high maintenance. I used to date SOMEONE I CAN"T SAY myselfand he said he was very demanding. With the age, he's gotta get even more picky.

Ever since the Lauryn Hill fiasco, the vibe from the Rio staff is everyone is ready for him to leave. The aftershows are clearly a mess. I mean it is good that the VIP ticket holders now get an option of getting in first to the aftershow but I was third in line but when I got in it looked like I was the 40th person to sit down. Oh well,,,,it was all worth it. But I'm sure he turns a lot of people off by his managment style.

But how is the Lauryn Hill thing his fault? He cannot control her behaviour...

Re: the other stuff, I could see where it's annoying...I still want to try to go in March, but it's very hard to commit to buying a plane ticket when there may not be a show for that particular weekend. But if I wait for tix to go on sale, then the last minute airfare (from NY) is gonna be outrageous.

Oh so did they change it?...the VIP ticket holders get first chance at getting into the aftershow first?

Well the Isley Bros are booked for 3/14, which doesn't mean it couldn't be cancelled, but at least there's an intention for the club to still be open.

So what is the deal with the aftershows now? Is it that the show VIPs get in first? Does that include 'table only' VIP or just the dinner package? Does that wipe out the plan of only going to the aftershow then?

I think they pretty much knew that after the superbowl that everyone would try to get into the aftershow and with so little room, and to avoid any problems, (like some posted about getting into the aftershow before the superbowl), they probably decided to go that route. Just waiting to hear from someone who went this past weekend, what they charged to get in and if it really was VIP getting 1st shot at the main room which would cut the chances of most of the GA crowd getting in.

Evidently, she showed up, did a soundcheck, left to go eat, and never returned/performed. After waiting 3-4 hours people were finally refunded their money, I believe. There is a thread about it at HQ in the Other/Assoc. Artists Forum.

I was at the aftershow 2/9 and was in the GA line, I saw a lot of people being let in before us and was wondering why, I didn't know that they were all the VIP people I thought they were all special guests. The admission was still $50.00 and everyone had posted before that we had to buy a minimum of $20 in drinks which was not the case this time, belive me with only to people serving drinks they were not going to be able to keep track of all the people who had not bought drinks. I was like the 17th person in line and still made it into the main room unfortunately I didn't get to sit where I wanted but I got in. If I would have known that VIP was going to be let in first I probably would not have gone so I'm glad I didn't know that biggrin And I got in line around 1:00am

Jay, I just asked over at HQ and was told these were Casino/Hotel or Prince invited VIPs. May just have been a special thing after the Super Bowl?

Actually, I really wouldn't know since I haven't been to an aftershow, I just stated that about probably letting VIPs in first because I figured since the superbowl, more people would try to get into the aftershow, but it seems that's not the story.

The twinz don't decide for Prince. They are as clueless as the staff at Rio. Prince is contracted until March, Pkidwell reported and I believe what he says. Then, he should go on tour. He's probably working on his next moves as we speak. Let's give him so time and see.

When we went on the 17th, we had regular 3121 dinner reservations and a VIP table for the show. [The VIP dinner package was sold out]. We asked about the wristbands very nicely, and we were able to purchase them before the main show. We stood in the VIP line for almost an hour. One of the 3121 staff said that P had 48 special guests on his list. We saw at least 25 people go in with Mike Phillips. We were standing in the VIP line, and we weren't sure that we were going to get in. Most of these special guests were seated outside of the main room. I only saw a couple of folks who had been waiting in the regular aftershow line in the main room later in the night. When we arrived at 10:45p for dinner, the aftershow line was about 7 or 8 people deep.
Cool, but I'm leavin' my pants on.

PS I believe my husband (who did the wristband negotiating - I knew I would be too impatient) was asked if he had the VIP dinner package. He told them,"Well, I'm eating dinner here and I have a VIP table...." Not in a snippy way but that charming guy way... whatever.... it worked!

Please, please, please tell me if the people who purchased VIP packages are priority for aftershow tickets.....we have VIP on the 24th and I would be just giddy if we could purchase wristbands before we went into the show. Don't get me wrong, the regular ticket holders need to get in too but if one pay's $700 for tickets and dinner you should be allowed to have 1st dibs at the aftershow wristbands.
