Just got a refund from the RIO for the show this weekend

but I am out $600 for air/hotel...and no I cant change it

That's such a drag!

Go to Vegas (since the air/hotel is non refundable) and have fun anyway.

Go see Purple Reign, they are good for a fix but maybe not so much in your case because you were going to see the One and Only.

But Vegas is fun regardless.


Still sorry that happened to you and any others that planned to go this weekend.

As Prince once said, "I feel for you." (okay, maybe not the best time for Prince humor, but dude, I really do feel for ya. Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you this weekend. You're handling it much better than I would be--at least it seems that way from your posts.)


oh, and they (TM) should have refunded everyone's tickets right upfront instead of dragging it out until the last minute...

Man, this is all such a drag. I haven't booked my flight yet because I didn't get paid until today. I'm hesitant to do so for the show on Jan. 27 even though I have tickets confirmed through TM. I just called TM to see if they knew what was up and of course they had no clue. They just said, "as far as we know the show is still on. there could be a number of reasons why they halted the ticket sales, blah blah blah."

I just wish I knew more before I booked my flight...

I AM IN COMPLETE SHOCK RIGHT NOW. I HAVE ALSO BOOKED FLIGHTS AND HOTEL FOR MYSELF AND WIFE. IAM OUT CLOSE TO 950.00 DOLLARS NOT INCLUDING THE MONEY I WILL SPEND THERE. OH I FORGOT MY WIFE WENT OUT AND BOUGHT SOME NEW CLOTHES FOR THE SHOW TOO. THIS GUY REALLY DOES LIVE IN HIS OWN WORLD.

He only wants our money and that is what an artist should strive for. He just does it with no integrity. I would never waste that much time and money for him especially with the cheesy setlists he has been playing for $100 + dollars. For the money it costs to get out there and the ticket prices he should be doing 3 Hour gigs. I guess that is why most of the shows aren't selling out. Again Love the man and his music but I have never seen another artist in the biz totally diss his fans the way he does.

I do not know who is to blame for this latest round but, Ticketbastard should have never put those tix up for sale until they got the green light. Once the tix got yanked, they should have immediately refunded people's money instead of waiting for this last minute shit.

Somehow I think you should go, just to put the plane/hotel to use, and when you get there march right to Rio management office and raise hell! Maybe they could offer you something, I don't a free meal at 3121, free VIP pass for a later date, but that would mean more money for another plane ticket....I don't know. I think you guys deserve something for spending the money.

Your airline tix might not be 'refundable', but you should be able to reschedule for up to a year and pay a penalty. As for the hotel, have you called and talked with them about the situation? Did you book directly thru them? They may only charge you a penalty or one night's fee.

One thing I've learned when traveling to see Prince, make sure you have something else to do at your destination in case something happens to the show.


oops, I just saw that you ordered thru an agency, that is a little tougher, which is why I won't book through them, but I'd still check anyway.

Maybe one of the band members got sick or something and they had to cancel. It doesn't seem like he would do something like that spitefully, has to be a legitimate reason to cancel. Or maybe he closed the show because of JB's passing in respect of it. Probably couldn't do it last week because more people purchased tkts for a 3 day weekend. Ok..enough of the maybe's, I'm just pondering.

Although I feel sorry for folks, booking flights/hotels for shows that never officially went on sale was probably not the best move. Especially when it involves the 3121 experience. It is not a tour. It's basically Prince's House and you never know what is going to happen. The only show that was ever announced, went on sale, and then was cancelled was the Corrine Bailey Rae show. Well at least you can get some dinner at the Cuisine, if it is open.
