He Spoke 2 Me My weekend in Vegas was the best experience of my life. Flew from London with my boyfriend, Gary, on 7th and checked into The Rio. Had tix for Sat 9th show and was almost tempted to buy more for Friday show. Hope the guy whose friend didn't turn up and was trying to sell his extra ticket had a good time - he'd also flown from London but on that same day so he must have been wasted by the end of the evening. Anyway I resisted the temptation as Gary and I were both very tired and had to be up at 6am to catch a helicopter ride to The Grand Canyon and around the Rio with the huge symbol advertising his residency. I judged it better to conserve our energy for Saturday's big event. This paid off as we needed loads of it! Especially when dealing with the shock of having Prince head straight over to our table in the 3121 Jazz Cuisine restaurant to shake our hands and allow us to give our thanks for the great show. A beautiful vision in orange (others argued red - maybe I'm a little colour blind) he smiled and said hi as he made my day an experience far beyond my wildest expectations. One of the seven wonders of the world followed by a killer Prince show (Black Sweat live is the bomb!) and meeting the greatest wonder of the musical world (imho). As our table was right by the door of the Jazz Room we could easily stand and peer in. As we did so Prince took a guitar to hand whilst the band were playing a jazzy number and he then sat at the edge of the tiny stage to join in with them. This was a beautiful moment and I cried with the shear joy it created inside. The rest of the restaurant seemed oblivious to the fact he was actually the person playing. This made it even more a moment of intimacy (ok, with 30 others present..lol x). When the band went on to funk things up the room soon filled with dancing bodies and for the next hour we all witnessed Prince in a playful mood. He was so relaxed and so very happy. He has brought something very special to the bright lights (and current schmaltz) of Las Vegas. A real return to the old school. We can't wait to go back and relive the experience all over but how could this really ever happen again? I hope some of the many others making their way down to Vegas end up with similar stories to tell. This just leaves us to send love to our new friends Gillian and Terry who were there with us through this fantastic evening that led straight in to breakfast and a long flight back to London. glad you had a good time.....and Black Sweat live, the way they do it now, makes me love that song much more than the album version which i never really could get into.....but leave it to Prince to still be creating original funk after all these years making music

What a great evening! I'm hoping for atleast one shot at getting out there soon. IF (and they're always big with Prince) he extends his gig there maybe more shots to see the man.
Hope you enjoyed the Grand Canyon? Truly a amazing natural happening.

Dear Rev - we chatted with the 3121 restaurant staff (very nice people) and they told us P had hired the premises at the Rio for the next 5 months so I'm sure they'll be loads of opportunities to get out there and party with the main man! 'til you're burnin' up
